The only real issue with this team is not that other teams are better, its that the Mavericks beat themselves.
Hornets
Mavericks
From basketbawful:
Dirk Nowitzki, quote machine: This is what Herr Diggler had to say after the game: "This was definitely a win we wanted to get. The Lakers are probably the hottest team in the West. We definitely didn't want to face them in the first round...(New Orleans) had a great year, but I think we match up pretty well." Good job, Dirk! You managed to demean your first round opponent and show abject fear of a possible future playoff opponent all in the same sentence. And that's what we call insult efficiency.
The only real issue with this team is not that other teams are better, its that the Mavericks beat themselves.
That's why I say IF, and thats a big IF, we play up to potential. Otherwise we can all go up to our local KFC and order that bowl.
Sorry that doesnt work in a 7 game series. The BETTER teams ALWAYS wins a best of 7. Beating themselves works in the NFL because it is a single game elimination. That card doesnt work in the NBA.
Hey, that's not very nice or ladylike. If you're that desperate for attention just post some naked pics, of course only if you're good looking at all.
I guess I worded that wrong. Its not that other teams are more talented than the Mavs, or that their style is better. Its that the Mavs mentally are just too inconsistent. The Mavs play the right way. They have lots of talent and a good mix. But sometimes they do stupid things at the worst possible times which kill them.
Ok this we can agree on. Two of many examples of what you just said Stretch:
1.) Terry jawing at Bowen after getting the lead up to 10 points.
2.)Howard throwing his headban after being disgusting with a foul call while the Mavs were controlling the 4th quarter against the Lakers.
I'm just waiting for Jeff to make his return.
I wanted to scream when I saw Dirk's comments after the game.
Seriously, how ing stupid can you be?
What did he say?
My, my...what a fun little thread we have here.
That the Mavs wanted to play the Hornets instead of the Lakers, and that they really wanted to avoid the Lakers. He made it a point of emphasis to say that they wanted to avoid the Lakers.
Eh...it's not that big of a deal. If a team really needs "bulletin board material" to get them going, then they're out of it already. I read where Byron Scott is going to show his team some quotes from Dallas and a tape from Charles Barkley to get them fired up. BFD.

Dirk's just saying what any other star in his place would be thinking. You want the easy opponents in the 1st round and your toughest opponents in the WCF and Finals.
I think the Mavs win this series easily to be honest.
Agreed. Getting mad over that is ing re ed.
Exactly. I just assumed Dirk was smart enough to keep those thoughts out of the media and away from the Hornets. I think it's a real dip move. Even if bulletin board material is overrated, it still can make a difference. If it didn't make a difference, nobody would talk about it.
Yeah bulletin board material is useless.
Releasing the parade route after Game 2 was a good idea.
The reason people talk about it is because Dallas fans always blow stuff up that doesn't need to be blown up in the first place. Dallas fans are among the worst ever when it comes to creating distractions for their team over pointless .
The parade route had nothing to do with Wade getting 40 freethrows a game.
and the fact is, every city that has its team in the championship game/series plans their parade route early. but i doubt they purposely released it early. im willing to bet it was some idiots on the inside that let it leak out to people with loose lips.
Mavs, no question.
I'm no fan but I really see the youth and the overwhelming flaws getting exposed in a series. Byron Scott isn't the coach they think he is.
Unless you have Stern's love child Dywane Wade on your team.
???
so, what you are saying then, is that nobody talks about stupid bull ?
this is a flawed theory
