Spurs forward Robert Horry went through a full practice Friday for the first time since suffering a bruised knee four weeks ago against Sacramento.
The 16-year-veteran, nicknamed "Big Shot Rob" for his ability to make clutch baskets in the playoffs, took part in a five-on-five scrimmage on the eve of the Spurs' first-round series opener against the Phoenix Suns.
Because Horry sat out the final 13 games of the regular season, Spurs coach Gregg Popovich said he must be cautious with him.
"It's a tough role to put him out there after he didn't play so long,'' Popovich said. "But then you do think he's pretty experienced. He's been around about 43 years. It's probably like riding a bike to him, so I'm not sure.''
Horry suffered the injury on March 21 in a home game against Sacramento. He has played only 45 games this season, registering career-lows in field goal percentage (31.9) and points per game (2.5).

Good news about Horry. His experience and his defense will help, if he can hit a basket or two that will be nice too.
Suns nation just let out a collective queef of fear!
guys... Horry has some playoff moments still on him... i believe he does... he just coasted more than ever...
Just to let the Suns think that the Spurs are now loaded and ready to repeat against them, I'm happy and willing to torture them"Big Shot Rob" for his ability to make clutch baskets in the playoffs, took part in a five-on-five scrimmage on the eve of the Spurs' first-round series opener against the Phoenix Suns.
Make It Happen.![]()
Welcome back Rob.
Bring back the big shots!![]()
so is there confirmation hes going to play in this series?
What what? Barry and Horry were healthy the whole time and we were just saving them for the playoffs?
Damn you, CIA Pop.
Welcome back. When the Spurs are about to lose a game against the Suns, Pop should put Horry into the game to commit a hard foul -- if for no other reason than to piss of Sun Fan.
Thats great. I'm really happy to hear thet Ro-Ho is back.
Things just keep getting more interesting...
Barry, Horry![]()
Hmm, I wonder how his knee will be tommorow. Good to hear he's back.
Doesn't this mean though that the Spurs have to take off someone from their roster? i.e Either Bonner or Stoudamire won't make the cut?
wear kneepads
So, who are on the Rosters for the Playoffs? Is Mahinmi and Barry are on the list?
yeah. thats a nice surprise
It wouldn't feel right if he didn't.
If they're going to call us dirty, we might as well start acting like it.
yeah! I can't wait for Horry to check in!
this "love" affair between Horry and the Suns way back, then continued last playoff makes this series more interesting.!!
Nice to hear Horry back Go Spurs
I bet Horry is looking forward to the booing in Phoenix.
