I've watched an awful lot of Lakers vs. Spurs battles in the past and I have never seen them use the de able Hack a Shaq! I always lost respect for teams that have to do that to win. Fortunately for the Spurs, the Suns coach is an idiot and played right into the spurs hands. Why take shaq out? He makes them when they count, I'm sure he could have given the spurs 1 out of 2, but even if he doesn't it allowed the suns to be back on defense. Taking Shaq out opened up the lane. Dumb move, imo

So what's up Spurs fans? Is this how you do it now?

Pop knows when to run a gimmick against a gimmick coach. I think he had more respect for Phil Jackson.

Phil wouldn't do that, his strategy would be to take it at Shaq and get him out by fouls.

I generally agree with you but I guess we were getting kinda desparate to make a move and had to do it. Going down at home in a game 1 is horrible, like a disease, everyone starts worrying ect. so drastic measures were called for in this game. It worked as it took Shaq out for almost 2 minutes just when the Spurs were trying to get close (they were down 4 I think). I dont see this happening in future games though as the Suns will know what to expect.

The spurs are smart. If you mean to ask the spurs if that is how they do it now, you just don't know they've been doing this all along.

Of course I guess you don't recall someone doing a hack of bowen when we played the lakers back in the day. Don't think your team wouldn't do the same for one minute.

Ok, I sure hope it doesn't happen again and I agree it worked because dumbass D'antoni (spelling) let it work.

Bull ! Phil would not start fouling Bruce with over 6 minutes left in the game, toward the end, maybe.

Far as I saw, no Spurs fans were involved.

For the record though...I am not a fan of the tactic.
