This was Pau Gasol's FIRST playoff win?!? Man, I didn't even realize that. I forgot he got swept everytime.

F.U Memphis. You just giftwrapped the Lakers season!
The lakers have to proof still they can win against a good seasoned team. The nuggets is perhaps the weakest team of the playoffs. I still don't think it will go 4 games only, I can see how the nuggest can steal 1 or 2 games at home with their crowd which is one of the best in the league.

I'm going to have to give you the part you said about the nuggets - they have immense talent but no heart. Its a paradigm of basketball.

The match should just end right now before someone gets fouled hard and get hurt.

Still I haven't seen a sold play from the lakers - nuggest were able to run on them but they don't believe they can win so they will lose.

I want to see the lakers against a 7 games team to have a real impression of what they are capable of now.
You must have missed the blowout win against the Spurs, 30pt lead against NOH, and dismantling of the Utah Jazz on the road. Lakers play to the level of their compe ion, if a 14 point blowout isn't enough to convince you the Lakers are for real you're just a hater.

I agree. This isn't a challenging series at all and won't tell us much about the Lakers. The way things are seeded, we won't really see much until the WCF in my guestimation...Lakers got a very lucky draw on the seeding...two teams they beat easily during the season.
    I'll easily third that.

Too easy. Jazz fans, we're gonna get a whole lotta rest before we face off.
you really know nothing about playoffs basketball.
Or you were just kidding, and if that's the case, my bad.

Lakers deserved the draw they got as they won when they had to and secured the top spot. I wouldn't count the jazz out though in case you guys face them as they do have a low post presence the nuggets totally lack. That would be a fan series to watch indeed.

Don't get to caught up in the regular season games. The Jazz will present more matchup problems for the Lakers then the Nuggets do. With the Jazz you have to account for Boozer and Okur will force Gasol to come out to the 3 point line. Plus Deron Williams will give Fisher and Farmer more then they can handle.

That was an embarrassing and forgettable win. Kobe played like a selfish head. They played better with him out.

Well i take this from who is coming from. You especially you don't have any credibility so you can save your time.

Now in response to your paragraph - i didn't missed any of that and I'm happy for you but you sound more like a homer than me a hater. I'm not hating on the lakers at all - they are my fav team after the spurs but your example above dont explain my simple statement that i'd like to see the lakers face tough compe ion on a 7 game series against a team that can take them to 7 games. I don't think it's too hard to understand.

off wins during regular season are NEVER a good indicator of what you can have coming playoff time. Some teams that react when they smell blood will show you how tough they are coming that time.

Or maybe I just know the Jazz and Lakers will wrap up and take care of business real quick while the Spurs, Suns, Hornets, and Mavs will all go the distance. Unless you think the Spurs will sweep the Suns?

Jazz just aren't a good matchup for the Lakers....Lakers are the one team out of 8 Playoff teams that plays extremely well against the Jazz due to matchup problems.

    For Boozer they have Odom
    For Okur, they have Gasol
For DWill, they have his Mentor Fish

And if Bynum shows up towards the end of the series, the Bench (Bynum, Farmar, Turiaf, Ariza and Vujacic) will just dominate.

And we haven't started counting Kobe.

I guess we won't know until it happens. But given all the team has overcome this season it's foolish thinking to think they'll just fold under pressure.

I don't think they will if you ask me but for this win today they didn't need too much. I want to see their reaction when they face adversity but I don't want the zen master to blame the refs for losses. Kobe can critique himself and will tell you if it was his fault. I;m happy Gasol got his first win.

    really no surprises.

This year, the 1 seed will not lose to 8 seed.

It's only a question of how quickly the Lakers can move on. 4-1 wouldn't surprise me.

Nuggs are really not much of a team, nor is Karl much of a coach.

A win's a win, but the Lakers need to step up their defense. Way too many easy baskets for denver. Way too many offensive boards for them. But with an off game from Kobe, the Lakers still win by double digits. The Nuggets might win one game, no way it goes longer than 5.

And for everybody that thinks the Jazz can beat the Lakers...... Think Again. Lakers own them and Kobe scores at will against them. Easy matchup for the Lakeshow. It's all about getting Bynum healthy for the WCF's. Once he's back our defensive and rebounding problems will be solved. So the haters only hope is that Bynum doesn't recover. Cause if he comes back anywhere close to where he was before it'll be #15 for the Lakeshow.

I doubt Lakers beat the celtics in a 7 game series

from what has been said...bynum won't be fit enough to make a real impact...

    I don't know, but it's funny as

It can't be real cause that was a great goal, but it sure looks real to me. The announcer has me cracking up as well

Celtics will be tough, but there's a lot of basketball till then and anything can happen. As for Bynum nobody knows how or when he will or won't return. It wouldn't surprise me if he doesn't come back or if he comes back and plays like he did right before he left. He's a great rebounder and his body alone will help on the defensive end.
