Last Wednesday, Juice.
I'm still waiting for Jason Kidd to score over 20 pts. LOL
Last Wednesday, Juice.
He already did. I'm still waiting for T-Mac to get out of the first round. LOL
Ewwww.
I want know where the German in Dirk was, he should have took west over his shoulders and suplexed him into the court on some street fighter Alpha Zangief R1 + triangle + quarter-circle-forward .
Hornets in 4.
Zangief is Russian.
Totally - and also the easiest guy to beat.
Just keep jumping straight up and down and kick when he comes near. Two perfect rounds. Cake.
LOL
thats exactly what I would do to him all day with Ryu.
I am surprised this is a topic on alot of sport shows nationally. I watched the game. I thought West was just being a punk, upset with Dirk and Dirk walked away. Its obvious Dirk did the right thing. To give West some credit all he did was touch him., Literally. With all the great games over the weekend this is a top 5-6 story. Give me a break..
Really when did Jason Kidd score more than 20 pts in a playoff game?? 7 pts 9 ast 9 boards. Yes How I love that All Star of Mine!
Kudos to your Rafer Clone.
Oh and yes I'll take some of that juice. You sellin?
Now you're changing your terms. I'll look it up, but I wouldn't all be surprised if he did it last year as a Net.
Damn near a triple-double.7 pts 9 ast 9 boards. Yes How I love that All Star of Mine!
Kudos on Tracy going AWOL again in the 4th Quarter.Kudos to your Rafer Clone.
Kobe had a similar moment yesterday when he got fouled hard on a breakaway and then Carter shoved him hard because of an inadverdant elbow when Kobe was getting up. Kobe didn't do anything, he slapped his hands but he didn't approach or say anything to Carter.
It's because of Dirk and the fact that his team blew a 2-0 Finals lead and were upset last year by GS. If that happens to anybody else, then nobody cares. If the Mavs had held onto the lead and won the game, it would be a non-issue, but they lost and so there has to be more significance attached to this than it merits.
^It's because he is white, German, and not 'street'.
Big difference between Kobe & Dirk.
Kobe has skins on the wall. He's got 3 rings. He's proven he's mentally tough. He's proven that he can't be rattled by like that. When Raja Bell or another other asshole tries to take him on, he doesn't have to do anything - he's still got scoreboard because he's Kobe in Bryant.
Dirk doesn't have that reputation, and frankly he's done nothing to deserve it. I love Dirk, I know he's physically tough, but he hasn't proven to anybody that he is mentally tough and that people can't rattle him.
Oh, I completely understand why people view that incident the way they do, and the juxtaposition between Kobe and Dirk. I understand that because it's Dirk and his toughness has been called into question before, his critics will seize on anything as evidence to back that up. All I"m saying is that if Kobe had stood there and done the exact same thing, just stared at West, we'd be like "Uh oh, West is a dumbass, Kobe is going to drop 60 on his ass in G2."
I don't think there's anything wrong at all with how Dirk handled the situation. He's just in a damned if he does, damned if he doesn't spot.
I also think that if the Mavs had won the game, not near as much would be made of that little incident. But just as it always is with the Mavs, Dirk is the scapegoat when they lose, no matter to which degree he bears blame.
And D&C is actually not that bad anymore. He used to whine a lot and be considered SpursDynasty's twin.

"I watched that whole thing," observes ESPN's David Thorpe. "If you watched their body language before and after the event, I don't think they even dislike each other. I don't think there was animosity. They are both hard-working, classy dudes. And I'm not even sure Dirk knew his elbow had hit David West. He looked more stunned than anything. I heard from some coaches who said 'Dirk's gotta punch that guy!' My view is so different."
I don't think Dirk knew what was going on. I don't think he was aware he'd hit David West. I think he was a little bit stunned by the reaction.
The smartest thing Dirk can do is nothing. If Dirk throws a punch, how do his teammates react? Does he break a finger?
And Dirk -- the player everyone has been trying to stop for years but hasn't been able to -- has to prove that he's a tough guy? Even if you buy into that, and I don't, with the referee standing right there is not the time. Never.
If you need some retaliation, you wait four or five plays and then set a hard screen, or initiate a tough drive.
But all that happened to Dirk, remember, was that some dude rubbed his face. The punishment has to fit the crime.
Also, isn't the goal to win the series? You don't do that by getting caught up like 16-year-olds in some stupid thing. I don't think the Lakers of the eighties were tougher than the Detroit Bad Boys, or Kevin McHale's Celtics. But they won five rings! If it was a battle royale, the Lakers would lose. But it's basketball, and they won.
And think about the current Lakers ... Anthony Carter put a little shove into Kobe, but Kobe doesn't punch him back! That's not the way to retaliate.
"If dirk throws a punch....does he break a finger?"
are you ing kidding me.......sad to see the white man get the bad rap in NBA......maybe that's why they are all going to hockey
Crap dude, there was 1:53 seconds left. You expect dirk to score 20 in 110 seconds? Sorta shows a lack of being able to pay attention I think.
I know exactly what the in time on the clock was. But were you paying attention? They were down 11 at the time, and it wasn't a complete stretch to think that if Dirk went off right then that they had an outside shot at tying the game. He could have done something to at least put some fear into the Hornets for game 2. Instead he did nothing. Nothing in every way possible.
this is the most bull cop-out in Mavs fandom.
"If Dirk wasn't white...."
It doesn't have one ing thing to do with Dirk being white. Anybody who was the leader of a team that choked in the Finals the way the Mavs did and then flamed out against GS the way the Mavs did will get this type of criticism, regardless of color.
