Yes, I'm sure Leandro will now come roaring back with a monster game a la Hakeem 1995.

So you agree he qualifies for the award, that it is a no brainer he should get it and you are happy he got it but . . . you do not think he is a 6th man.

You would be happier if he started but never got any award.

    Ok.
*sigh* Do I have to explain it again? In practice no, he's not a 6th man on my team, but this award is not about talent right? so yes, considering that I'm OK with the award.

BTW, I don't give a about individual awards, he doesn't need them, and he doesn't care about it either... I'm happy for him for the recognition, not the award itself.

Smeagol.... my english lenguage is'n good. but I must tell U a pair of things....

TP vs Manu is not good. Spurs is the target.

But Manu's 6th man award is not for a party...it's mad than a man who is top scorer, 3th in rebounds, 2nd in assistants...to be best 6th man...

Only in NBA happens... MANU HAPPENS......

Props on the award. Well deserved.

I still don't understand how he didn't win last year and why almost no Spurs fan even thought Manu deserved it last year. Given, it's a lame award but going by the letter of the award, this should be Manu's second time winning it.

In practice no, he's not a 6th man on my team,

    And what team is that?

Oh . . . I get it . . . your team is the one who thinks Manu is diminished as a player because he comes off the bench and this award simply cements his 6th man role.

I'm sure Manu will be proud to pick up his "Best Player Not Good Enough to Start" award.

Exactly, I think that feeds all this confusion about who should win the award, if it's merely a role thing, this should be Manu's second 6th Man award... I think last year they gave it to the "real" 6th man, the man who's backup in his position, the man who was 6th on his team talent wise also... It's stupid really, Manu should have won it back then too.

I wanna know who the asshole is that didn't vote him 1st, 2nd, OR 3rd. It would be the same guy that voted Barbosa #1, no doubt a jealous loser Suns sportswriter.
    1) A jerk Suns writer and/or 2) a protest vote not considering Manu a true 6th man and/or 3) a complete idiot who does not consider Manu in the top 3.

Suns writers have demonstrated an "ability" for any and all the above.

Barbosa had better numbers on the surface last year. So I don't think Manu losing had anything to do with an interpretation of who was a true sixth man. I think voters felt Barbosa had the better season.

I doubt Parker could win this award if he was coming off the bench.
The only guys who got something for coming off the bench are Amare and Diaw.

The fact that MANu recieved 123 of 124 votes leaves little conversation on if he "deserved" the award or not. As awards go, it was a landslide of epic proportions.

I understand those that question if one of the top players in the game should play off the bench. But really, that is another discussion based only upon what would make the Spurs a better team.

The fact that a star player of MANu's quality will sacrifice self to better team speaks for his value and commitment to the larger picture. It is also what makes this 6th Man on of the best in the game!
