I was watching the Philly/Detroit game. Henry Bibby (Mike's dad) is on the Philly staff, and he's also VERY light skinned. I'm not sure Mike qualifies as half-n-half.

In my opinion this is a myth.
In general, there are no fundamental differences between races, whether on the athleticism, intelligence, or any other spectrum. The differences are cosmetic. It's actually pretty clear that races do not exist in any scientific sense -- as specifically identifiable traits that are clear-cut (like you'd see between species).
In my opinion when you see a certain group dominate a sport, it's because that sport is very important to that group, and the leaders of that group make it clear that they value achievement in that sport, and the kids grow up trying to be good at that sport and practicing and working at it, and seeking to continue to move up to higher and higher levels. You can see this over and over again in history, with all kinds of groups.
The gringos and much of the world use the term American as the nationality of the USA. It seems to be a sore spot only for Latin Americans. the nba need white superstars like manu because they are RLE MODELs. if you are a white poor kid and you wtach the nba any only see black superstars you don't you can make it.. owever since that person is your race, from a poor background liek you. You are liekly to think hey manu did that I can too as a white poor kid. IF all you see is people that you cannot assocate to your never try..
Now why is this important because if they play basketball and practice. They are less likely to be in a gang or involved with "bad behavior". When they play even if they aren;t good enough they coudl geta college degree for playing ball for free.
It has always been my belief that the NBA needs to promote its white superstars so they white kids do not feel they have no chance and basketball is only for blacks. Just like Black CEOs and women ceos tell kids yes you too can work hard and become a ceo.
ROLE MODELS are good for society mroe so if the indiviudal can identify with them
