Prior to the Pacers/Pistons incident the Suns/Knicks was the worst. I can't find a video of it, but here's an article.

I'm still amazed at how ppl hold Greg Anthony in such high regards.. Most must not remember how he came onto the court in street clothes and sucker punched KJ from behind.
Isn't Mustaf in prison for murder? The Knicks should consider themselves lucky.

There has never been a good "fight" in the NBA...EVER.
    Kevin Johnson vs Magic Johnson

    Kevin Johnson vs Doc Rivers

Jeff Van Gundy vs Alonzo Mourning's left calf muscle

Since I respect your opinion, I'm curious what you thought of West reacting like he did to Dirk's elbow.
Personally I thought West was a little . Reminded me of that scene in The 40-Year Old Virgin when the black dude is talking to Jay at the store and says "See, now you're throwing too many big words at me. Since I don't know what they mean, I'm gonna take it as disrespect. Watch your mouth."

I thought Dirk did the right thing for his team.

what about Dr.J, Barkley and moses malone jumping on Larry Bird?

Larry Bird is the biggest hard-nosed badass the league has ever seen.

I wouldn't call it a cheap shot. After all Rudy was running up on Kermit. Kermit didn't know what his intentions were so he socked him. You can't run up on somebody while they're in the middle of a fight. Although I hated to see it happen, i wouldn't call it a cheap shot!

That has to be the worst.

The funniest was Lionel Hollins socking Tree Rollins and running for his life.
That has to be one of the most ignorant ing things I have ever read - and that's saying a lot. It was the cheap shot against which all others are measured. Even Kermit Washington doesn't deny that. Tomjonavich was leaking spinal fluid into his skull cavity, and very nearly died right on the court in front of everyone.

Yeah, Washington had enough sense to realize what he had done, as well as what he almost did, and to be bothered by it. And Rudy T was a big enough man to say that he forgave him for it, which was one of the most amazing gestures I have ever seen. I saw an interview with Washington and it brought tears to his eyes to hear that Tomjonavich had forgiven him. But it was forgiveness for a cheap shot. To even suggest otherwise is just too ing ignorant for words. Even coming from a Lakers fan.

yep, and this is what started the 'DON'T LEAVE THE BENCH' rule.

also, i forgot that drj, moses and barkley were all on the same team.

    that is just.. amazing.

Does anybody remember when Marcus Camby got pissed at Danny Ferry and took that great big roundhouse swing at him? He missed Ferry completely, but smacked the out of Jeff VanGundy. Maybe not infamous, but extremely entertaining.

Yeah, that was ed up. They definitely jumped on Bird and should have been suspended for awhile for that. I don't think any of them got punished for that, although they should have. You can see moses get a punch in too when he grabbed Bird around the neck.
Looked like assault to me. Some criminal charges should have been leveled. Two guys holding another while the third takes pot shots at him.

I remember a few years ago a big player punched a ref in international ball. the ref went in a coma and soon died I beleive.

also not a fight but I remember when some big euro guy buttheaded the post and actually injured himself becoming paralized for the rest of his life

those are probably the 2 most ed up plays in history

What happened to Rudy was an unfortunate situation. It was a very sad moment in history and I'm glad that Rudy was able to recover and lead a productive life.

Now to the idiot who is doing nothing but spreading ignorance on this forum. I would like for you to supply a link to where Kermit said it was a cheap shot. Just one link! I dont really know why I bothered to ask because I know that you won't be able to provide one because your statement is a flat out lie. Kermit has said from day one that he felt threatened and he reacted. Of course he was tore up over the situation because Rudy almost died. He had no intentions to do that to Rudy and he had no idea that his punch was so lethal. I watched the play a thousand times. Kermit was fighting with another player at the time, a fight where he did not throw the first punch. He punched the player and stopped him in his tracks, Kareem grabbed that player and it was for that reason that Rudy got involved. He was coming to aid of his team mate, but his approach was a threatening approach. He charged at Kermit from the rear. Rudy said that he was just going to break up the fight but for anyone who saw it, it's impossible to tell intent. Kermit saw Rudy charging out the corner of his eye and reacted by punching Rudy. Where I'm from you don't wait to see what someone is going to do when rushing you from the rear. You defend yourself! If I were fighting your buddy and you rushed me from the rear, i would have punched your punk ass too!

Kermit contended from day one he defended his self. In fact he wrote it in his book. A cheap shot is not punching someone charging you from the rear. You do what you have to do. The impact of Rudy charging at Kermit and kermits punch contributed to the severe damages. Unfortunate, but not a cheap shot!

Since it was a Phoenix team involved in the brawl that resulted in the "don't leave the bench" rule, you'd think their players would be VERY aware of the rule - right? (see Amare and Diaw - game 4 of the 2007 WC Semi's )

I believe that was boban jankovic in 1993. He was fouled out in a close game and buttheaded the post in frustration. I tried to find a clip but seems like there isn't one. I remember seeing it on the news back in the day.

Very productive...I even remember when I was 20 and as a bouncer at Howl @ the Moon and helping RudyT down the back stairs because he was so drunk he couldn't walk so I basically gave the dude a konky down the steps. Productive. J/K...FYI, I'm a HUGE Rudy T fan.

You think? Hey that's your opinion and I respectfully disagree, without calling you an idiot for thinking so.

Nice find though and it basicly happened just the way I said that it did. When referencing that day, they descibe the incident as "The Punch". I hated that it happened but I understand how it did happen. Rudy was charging like a Middle linebacker zeroing in on a Running back. When Kermit drew back to throw the punch, Rudy T. could not stop because of the speed he was traveling to get there. Very unfortunate.

I like Rudy T. and it was because of him and Akeem is why I chose to be a fan of the Rockets. I have nothing but love and respect for Rudy T.
