    can we borrow Horry?
    you need some D !
No - they need him to hipcheck Chris Paul into the scorer's table - and then maybe some Hornet's players will pull an Amare and leave the bench!

That's the only chance they'll have to win this series...

Mavs look finished, bad body language, esp Dirk walking off at the half.

Out in the first round again?

Look for Terry to clothesline CP3 sometime during the 3rd quarter!

And I'd stay home on everybody else and turn Paul into strictly a scorer. Just go under him on the screen -- if he beats us by hitting jumpers, then tip your cap to him and wish him luck in Round Two. Because letting him getting into the lane, or trapping the out of him and letting the Hornets swing it to the open guy is a recipe for defeat.
Pop did that in the Spurs' 98-89 win against the Hornets. Paul hit a lot of his jumpers but they forced him into being the scorer (I believe he took a team high 23 shots but I'll have to double check) and then the Spurs neutralized/shut down everyone else.

It's Golden State all over again. New Orleans is too quick.
Yep, once again Avery is getting outcoached and Dallas is overmatched. At least this time you can't put it on Dirk. He showed up.

Avery has never figured out how to deal with the pick and roll. Trapping Paul with Erick Dampier all the way to halfcourt? WTF?

Lol was he implying to borrow Horry to clothesline CP3 or because he might have bigger balls than the whole mavs team.
I'm stupid, I thought he wanted to borrow him for his clutchness

Findog, are you going to Game 3 or 4? I'll be going to one of them, not sure which one yet, but I think we need to try and get some Fire Avery chants going when they get run out of their own gym.

He's not Kobe from outside. He's missed a few in this game. Trapping is fine as far as mixing it up and giving him a few different looks, but that's all they're doing. Anyways, going under is how I would play the p'n'r between him and Chandler. You switch and Chandler is going to get a lob dunk over your PG. You fight through the screen and Paul gets into the lane. There's no perfect solution but that would be my strategy.

The silver lining is that Mark Cuban is FINALLY going to fire Avery's sorry ass and get rid of some of the roster deadweight in the off season.

I honestly do not understand why they don't put Josh on Paul and have Kidd on Peja. Kidd is 6'4, he can body up Peja and get a hand in his face just fine since he's pretty much just a spot-up shooter.

And I'd stay home on everybody else and turn Paul into strictly a scorer. Just go under him on the screen -- if he beats us by hitting jumpers, then tip your cap to him and wish him luck in Round Two. You are thinking exactly what I was thinking. Why doesn't Avery see this? Why is Stackhouse in the game at all? He is horrible. He is throwing the ball away and missing wide open shots. We are being outcoached again. On the flip side, maybe this is one of the last games for Avery. We need him gone alongwith his pet players.

I agree that probably both teams will win at home BUT

Dallas is the Veteran team...they have Dirk & Jason Kidd. That's two HoF'ers right there. They're getting outplayed by some 20 year old Playoff Virgins? This is just embarrassing.

Mavs seriously have to go into the locker room and slap each other upside the head and ask "WTF is wrong with you?"

That said, I still say Mavs will win this series, they just have to realize they need to pull their heads out of their *ss.

I am by no means qualified to be an NBA head coach, so WTF is Avery's problem?

Yes, Paul had a great game on Saturday, he had 35 points and 10 assists and his team won. Dirk had 31 points and 10 rebounds, but nobody is talking about how the is NOLA going to stop Dirk. The Hornets won G1 because Chandler played well, Peja played well, West played well, whereas nobody besides Dirk really did anything for us. You can't overreact to a guy doing what Paul did, and that's what they're doing with the traps. The Hornets anticipated that adjustment, and they're attacking it just fine.

The problem is that there is no amount of HOFers that can make up for Avery. I think the players want him gone, they are giving up on him. I don't think they wanna be around him much more than this series.
