The problem is that there is no amount of HOFers that can make up for Avery. I think the players want him gone, they are giving up on him. I don't think they wanna be around him much more than this series.

That's the elephant in the room, the chemistry on this team is terrible, and that's RARELY been the case in the Cuban/Dirk era. This team is even worse on-court and chemistry-wise than the 03-04 Two Antawns year.

He's not Kobe from outside. He's missed a few in this game. Trapping is fine as far as mixing it up and giving him a few different looks, but that's all they're doing. Anyways, going under is how I would play the p'n'r between him and Chandler. You switch and Chandler is going to get a lob dunk over your PG. You fight through the screen and Paul gets into the lane. There's no perfect solution but that would be my strategy.

The silver lining is that Mark Cuban is FINALLY going to fire Avery's sorry ass and get rid of some of the roster deadweight in the off season.

No, he isn't. He has a good jumper but he gets a lot of his points in the paint, no? The thing is the Hornets' offense thrives off of Paul being a playmaker and setting his teammates up. They don't do too many isolations (if they do it's either with Paul or West). Now that I think about it, that was a really smart strategy by Pop. I agree, the best way to defend the pic'n'roll between Paul and whoever is to go under.

Mark Cuban needs to do everything in his power to keep Dirk happy. He's got 3 years of his prime left. I don't think Dirk is the kind of guy who would request a trade though.
