Isn't an expert a guy who actually is correct? I mean, it's the total ing opposite of what an expert it is he gets it wrong.

Who even came up with the idea to call these analysts experts? How did they exactly earn such a le?

How funny. What a bunch of kool-aid drinking fools. The Suns got worse with that trade. They weren't going to beat us anyways but they traded their BEST defender.

Legler and Sheridan must have changed their picks too... when this first came up, ONLY Thorpe had the spurs.

it kinda reminds me of 2001 when everyone predicted the lakers spurs wcf series to go 7 and hyping it as potentially the best wcf ever... and the spurs got their asses handed to them.

I cant believe Hollinger picked against the Spurs. I think he didn't want to lose his job.

The only differnce between us and these clowns is that they are on t.v. That's it. They don't know any more or less than we do. There just a bunch of guessers like the rest of us that just happen to be on t.v. or on the internet.

Since Hollinger uses "odds", he's never technically wrong since the Spurs had a smaller probability of winning the series according to his estimation.

I guess we all hit the lotto.

Actually, Spurs fans have more knowledge of what this team is capable of doing. While we are biased in favor of our team, it has worked out more than not.

This is funny since most Spurs fans know there is a difference between the regular season and the post season. All these experts picked Phoenix probably based on the addition of Shaq and the last two regular season games between them. NOT!

What we are witnessing is the Spurs playoff mentality. They are in the zone now and they've done this for many years now. I didn't think that they would get there this soon but the telltale signs were there if I had paid any attention. That last game against Utah at home and how they just turned it up - and I don't think Utah was tanking to get the seed they ended up with like some have suggested at the time - should have alerted me to things to come. Damn they look good right now. All are playing together and being unselfish.

Let's sweep these Suns and really make the so-called experts look really stupid!

THe biggest problem with his "simulations" is that he is assuming that things would stay constant between playoffs and the regular season, but that is not true.

    1) From the Spurs' perspective, we know that the team is built for the playoffs.
    2) The Spurs rest their starters a LOT in preparation for the playoffs.
    3) The Spur experiment in the regular season, and use certain games as practice to see what works and what doesn't. You ever wonder why the Spurs always come up with big leads and then squander them all later in the game?
    4) The Spurs does not want to show enough for their game to the opposition for others to scout the team, so they do not show their hand, leading to lower point margins and sometimes even costing games.

I am sure other teams does this as well. So based on this Hollinger is basing his simluation on teams that are similar, but not entirely the same.
