It's not fair that the rim is so high that Tony Parker can't dunk. Shaq and Amare get to dunk all the time, which makes the game more exciting for fans, allows the Suns to score points, and results in higher ratings.

I think it would make sense to lower the basket so Tony Parker can dunk. This would make the game more fair, and also more exciting, resulting in higher ratings.

They should make the rim bigger so more shots will go in, too. And we can make 2's count for 3 and 3s count for 5.

I mean, we wouldn't want people to have to learn fundamentals these days, would we?

Parker has earned the right of having his own custom made rim.

Should they change the English language to French in honor of Tony Parker? Sure, why not?

the reason he does not dunk anymore is that he hit his head against the rim back when he played in Paris.

lol He didn't jump high enough to hit his head against the rim. The ball hit the rim and he hurt his back, that's it.
Tony can't jump high enough to dunk on a consistent basis, but at least he knows how to compensate this "weakness".

That's my point. The league should change the height of the rim so that he can dunk on a consistent basis. It would make the game more fair AND more exciting.

@ this thread but it makes a good point. If the rim we're lower alot of more players could dunk. But then people like Shaq could just stand up and dunk it.

We're in a good mood today and hopefully in about 3 + hours even better!

Mister Rogers: Boys and girls our word for today is SWEEP.

As in the San Antonio Spurs today will sweep the Phoenix Suns out of the first round and into NBA purgatory.

You make a decent liberal argument for affirmative action in basketball. Yes, let's lower the rim for the vertically-challenged! Why should shorter people be denied the opportunity to dunk? The answer: we shouldn't. Lower the rim, but only for the short guys. But then, that raises the question of how we would, then, raise it for the tall guys or the ones with big hops. Basketball is too fast of a game. So your proposal would be practically impossible to implement.

Affirmative action is easier to pull off in baseball. Why should the Devil Rays or the Royals be held to the same standards as the Yanks or Red Sox? Royals batters should get 4 strikes instead of 3. And you're not allowed to run the bases when the Royals are in the field, you must walk, because the Royals' fielder is not as good as yours.

And you have to soft-toss it to them when they're up to bat. Give everyone a chance.
