it ain't Avery's fault. he took the Mavs to the Finals. blaming him for this is like when the Nets fired a certain coach by the name of Byron Scott, even though he'd taken them to 2 Finals.

what ed things up for the Mavs was the panic trade for Kidd. plain and simple. they gave up a lot of youth and speed at pg, and a lot of size in the frontcourt with diop, and for what? look at kidd's stats tonight.

He deserves some of the blame. His horrible subs utions, his offense is to predictable, he takes his players out at times when they have no business being out, he's in love with his veterans. I know we have idiotic players like Howard and Stackhouse who continue to shoot jumpers even though they aren't making them, but the blame should go back to the coaching staff as well.

I agree with the trade. I didn't want it to happen. I hated every bit of it. I did not want to lose Harris and was happy as that George blocked it which is about the only thing he did right this season. I would love to hear Cuban and Donnie saying we ed up because we panicked. I would love to hear them admit it. I would love to hear them admit taking a step back.

Avery can't be faulted for not working magic with this roster, but he lost the locker room a long time ago, he's not a good in-game coach, his subs utions and minutes distributions are re ed. Red Auerbach and Phil Jackson probably couldn't get this team out of the first round, and changing coaches isn't some magical elixir, but Avery does need to go.

I feel bad for him, but he was part of the problem tonight. When he's out there being aggressive, the team follows. Early on he did that. But once he decided that shooting pussy jumpers all night was his game, the team did the same thing.
