, Rob is 10x worse than Fin guarding Diaw. Frenchy looks like Wilt out there against Horry.

Our best defensive lineup against the three Phoenix bigs was:

    Parker on Bell
    Udoka on Nash
    Bowen on Amare
    Duncan on Diaw
    Thomas on Shaq

You go from down one to up nine at the end of the second quarter, but don't bring that lineup out to start the third. Pop is a stubborn and stupid SOB.

Finley did better tonight than in game 4. I mean Ginobli did a bang up job tonight right?

Neither Finley nor Manu could defend Diaw. Horry didn't do well either. Udoka actually did the best job out of the smalls, which I expected. Why? Because he holds his ground well, just like Kurt does against bigger players. Udoka was solid tonight.

that strategy of letting Diaw get his was incredible. Nash never got any rythm neither did Amaré. Pop knew Diaw was going to break under pressure in a tight game and make mistakes. When Nash and Amaré needed to take over they couldn't.
    I loved the strategy.

Manu actually did a good job on Diaw in three possessions in the 4th. Granted he got saved by help-defense, but if Manu didn't have the foul trouble, he would have done a of a better job than Finley in that third quarter.

Well, Manu did better than Finley (he was atrocious), but he didn't do a good job either (that's just my opinion, of course). Diaw backed him up easily, and foul trouble made it worse, but Manu couldn't hold his ground either (the same thing happened in game 4).

Popdamnit Finley Cannot Guard Diaw You Idiot
ROFL. You scoffed at my idea of starting a bigman on Diaw before the game. Now that Pop followed through with your line of thinking, you scoff him.

    Classic.

I think it was part of Pop's strategy as well. Get the ball out of Stoudemire's and Nash's hands and get them out of rhythm.

I think so too. Pop doesn't care if Diaw abuses Finley, Ginobli, and Udoka as long as Stoudamire, Nash, and Shaq are not doing the damage.

Doug Collins commented on it tonight. He said it's a nice option but don't let Stoudamire and Shaq lose rhythm. You can always go back to the Diaw mismatch at any time.

While most of us are complaining about it (and I don't know why Finley is taking so much heat for it either) but Pop is probably laughing about how the Suns fell for that strategy.

IT did work in the fact that it totally took Stoudamire out of the game.

I don't think he took a shot the whole 4th quarter

    I was astounded at that.

Pop gets credit for the strategy because we won and it was a good gamble. I wouldn't be gloating about it though, if the Suns played smarter we would have been looking at OT.

Finley really sucked on Diaw and I doubt Pop wanted the Suns to take the lead in the 3rd because of it.

Stoudamire got into foul trouble. It was like a potential repeat of game 1.

Yeah he did, but that still doesn't explain not running a play, posting up, ANYTHING for him.

I mean Diaw went from option 4 to option 1

Letting the run the offense through Diaw is fine. Even if he scores some points. Its really not a bad thing - he makes a TON more mistakes than Nash.

As evidenced by that absolutely back breaking turnover witha minute left.
