It was a great moment though. Unfortunately, we couldn't go all the way that year thanks to D-Whistle.
True...too bad we couldnt but the championship ahead of this moment and Spurs victory 2nd....

It's good to see the knuckle-walker community still has a voice. You and Koko represent them well.
Weren't you supposed to keep that Giants sig for a year?

The Spurs time will come eventually...when the beloved TD retires, so enjoy it now because it wont always be like this
..and the time will come but spurs fans will have sweet memories (and championship DVDs) to relive the good times the spurs gave us and for mavs fans and suns fans you will have nothing...

A Pistons or Lakers le offends me the least. Misery loves company, so it's good to see Phoenix go down as well. As long as somebody takes care of the Celtics, I don't care who wins.

I dunno, I think a Hawks le would be pretty hilarious. I wouldn't really mind a Laker one though, watching Kobe is always very entertaining at least. Spurs I'd be indifferent about at this point, they've already won so freaking many of them.

A lot of Spurs' fans seem to think that their team is so superkalifradulisticexpialladocius that this won't happen to them.

Duncan is irreplacable. Enjoy it while it lasts, and good luck, because to everything there is a season...
Well at least we got a few of out of it

I think most Mav fans on this site are cool. They make fun of themselves and thier team. There were way more ier ones back in 06 07. Ponky for example.

And most Spurs fans are cool. But I do think it's funny that there are some like the OP that never venture into the NBA section until the Mavs season is safely over to talk .

The funny thing is that all the mav trolls that jumped on the bandwagon after G4 of the Spurs series and got off safely after Miami are long gone from Spurstalk, which is to whom the first post was directed.

yeah, I got right under your skin didn't I? Good.

God damn the Mavs future looks bright. Devin Harris and Josh Howard are going to tear us up for years on end. Well, that is if Howard can put down his pipe long enough to. Harris probably will destroy us, but too bad it'll be for New Jersey.

I'd rather be a piece of than a Mavs fan.

You did get under my skin a little bit, I'll admit, because I always thought you were one of the better and classier Spurs fans. Now I know better. You're no better than the trolls. It's always disappointing to see somebody lower themselves to SpursDynasty's level.

I stick with my teams through the good times and bad and don't apologize for it. I don't run and hide when they do poorly, or wait until another team falls on hard times to lob some weak smack talk. Where was your cowardly ass when the Mavs owned the Spurs? But that's the difference between yourself and I. I won't have the gripping insecurity complex that would compel me to laugh in your face when Duncan retires and the Spurs are winning 35 games every year. Not that I would ever have the opportunity anyway, you seem like the type to not have the stomach to stick it out.

<Insert "At least we'll have 4 rings" retort here.> Like I need a le to validate my fandom. I'd love for the Mavs to win a le, and I won't hold my breath, but I don't need any crippling insecurity ameliorated with a championship.

I'd rather be a piece of than a Mavs fan.

Every fan base has idiots, the Spurs included. I agree that the worst of the Mavs trolls left after '06. I like the fans that stayed, I think most of them bring a lot to the board.

I said it in the game blog, but I'll say it here too. I'm sorry for their fans that the Mavs went out again like this. It's hard to be a fan of a team that seems to have so much potential and for 3 years in a row hasn't lived up to it.

I'll admit - you're one of the better Mav fans here. But there are plenty such as Shank, Mono, Dirk, Mavfan etc etc who make it so damn sweet to watch them lose and throw some their way at the same time.

I don't care if it makes me a troll, but after hearing putting up with the bull this board has had to put up with from Mav Fan - you're all the same in the end.

It means you're on the receiving end of an inside joke and a pretty stinging insult, which you'd know if you showed your face in the NBA forum anytime other than the day after the Mavs and Suns are eliminated from the playoffs. Why don't you do us all a favor and head back to the Spurs section to discuss who should get more minutes, Udoka or Horry.

What is there to respond to?

How about your generalization of an entire fanbase, based on the actions of a couple of people you don't happen to like?

Or your attempt to add insult to injury, right after a very depressing first-round exit?

Or maybe your rancid sense of en lement because a team that you root for, a team that you have absolutely no involvement with, a team that would win or lose even if you were dead, happens to be a great team? You act like some accomplishment of your's has somehow given you a voice of authority.

    You're a tool, Magilla.
