Shaq's antics always seemed just that to me. Antics.
He is a human being, and ever since he got swept from the playoffs last year his life has just gone downhill.
he got divorced, then he went to Phoenix to try to resurrect his career and start a new life, he had the support of all the Phoenix fans and coaches, and he was really trying to be everything they needed him to be. And he failed hard.
Maybe I'm just a closet Shaq homer or whatever.
