    Professional wrestling as a main-stream televised event (I stop short of calling it a sporting event) was born and thrived in Oklahoma City in the 70s-80s. Back when we didn't have cable or fox, just basically had the 3 networks and OETA and that's it, you could watch the Friday night and Saturday night wrestling matches every Saturday and Sunday morning. Many early wrestling starts were born during this time.

    Junkyard Dog, Ted DiBiase, Magnum T.A., Hacksaw Jim Duggan, Sting, the Fabulous Thunderbirds, all came from these early leagues.
