Yes it matters because even though I have all that, my family didn't ask to be Americans. My family goes 7 generations deep in the Banquete, Agua Dulce, Bishop, Alice area. Which is well south of the Nueces. To use a cliche, we didn't cross the river, the river crossed us. I'd be just as happy to be a Mexican citizen.

I was raised on them!! My dad is a guitarist and was in a trio with his cousins when I was a kid and they used to play all the family events, weddings, etc. When I was around 19, my cousin and I went to Mexico City and I accidently caught their show at the hotel we were at. Serendipity!
