When LJ told me about it yesterday, I thought it was a joke too. Nick Cannon was engaged to someone else not that long ago. But oh well, it looks like they got married on a whim ... the press just reported they were engaged this week and now they are already married.
LJ and I got married fast too, so I can't say much.

Supposedly there is a rumor that he gave Mariah the same ring he gave his ex fiancee.
There's apparently some whispering that both Mariah and the previous fiancée got the same ring (article says that the rings are very similar and confirms that betrothed #1 gave the ring back to Cannon, but he says it's not the same ring).
Don't know that I'd complain too much when it's $2.5 million worth of diamonds, but... still très tacky.

I liked "Vision of Love" when I was in middle school. And there were a couple of songs from the "Butterfly" album that I didn't mind -- the one with Bone Thugs and one other, though I can't remember either song anymore -- but the rest is all crap. Her move from adult contemporary to R&B bag was waaaay too ing contrived for my taste.
I've never liked her music, but I agree that it got much worse when she made that move.
For 38 she's looking great.

There's no denying that she can sing...I just don't like WHAT she sings. But lately, she's been called out for lip syncing. When you can actually sing, why do you need to do so? Plus the woman needs a stylist STAT.
Also, today they are reporting that the rings aren't the same, but they are similar. I've also heard there was no pre-nup, but that hasn't been confirmed.
She was on Oprah last week and Oprah was making a big stink about how much weight she lost. Of course, she's got someone cooking all her meals and the same person trains her.
