Seriously, over at Hornetsreport, they think the Hornets are taking the Spurs out in FIVE!
They seem to be hanging their hopes on the regular season results and that we are OLD.....how many times have we heard this before?
they think they can beat the world champs.
I hate how y a team gets.
However, I do love them coming into this series and thinking they are just as good, if not better, as the freaking-world-champion Spurs.
This isn't to say that the Hornets will be easy, or as seemingly "easy" as the Suns; however, they have no room to speak as they speak.
Spurs in five.

are you serious?
give me a link!
Actually, the only thing I've heard from the New Orleans organization so far has been nothing but respect for the Spurs. Of course they're going to say they can beat us...that'd be kind of weird if they didn't. Expecting to go into the series to get their asses kicked and sharing it with the world would be kind of defeatist, don't you think?
I expect a good, relatively clean series. The Hornets have admitted they're trying to emulate the Spurs because selflessness, teamwork and keeping their cool wins championships. They probably feel like if they can beat the Spurs, they can beat anyone, and I don't see them rolling over and giving up like the Mavs and the Nuggets did. That's why the Celtics can't go all the way. Seriously, they have to go to a 7th game in the First Round against the Hawks? That ought to take out a serious chunk of their confidence, and Paul Pierce's body language after he fouled out last night spoke volumes.
I think the Hornets will use this playoff series against the Spurs as a learning opportunity for next year. You can't tell me Lebron's experience in 2007 isn't helping him right now. Chris Paul will do the same and will only get better. I'll be shocked if NO can knock off the Spurs, even with home court advantage. But I'd rather be beaten by a young team who respects their opponent than a bunch of publicity-hungry, chest-thumping, media darling major market players that will only be good for ratings, not for people who love to see a great-played series.

Oh, and what the fans say and what the team says--as we know--can be two different things. I don't blame the Hornets for what their fans say anymore than I can blame the Spurs for a lot of the people on SpursTalk say.
It's hilarious seeing Hornets fans go to S.A. city smack on other boards.
N.O.? Really? Damn.
hahahaha
Spurs in 4. Much eassier than most of people think...
We will revisit this thread tonight.
Thread le misleading. You talking bout they fans man.
I wouldn't expect them to come into this series thinking "Gosh, we're sure lucky to be in the same gym as the Spurs." But, I see a lot of the same fan bravado as when the Saints were doing so well two years ago.
Who's y? The Hornets? Hardly...
I'd only call a team y if they expect to win. The Hornets don't expect to win, but they know they'll talented enough to pull it off. The Spurs on the other hand DO expect to win and THAT is y.
Doesn't matter the team thinks it can beat the Spurs too. Difference is they are not going to come right out and say it like say oh "Dirk" would. Their play will do all their talking. As for the Fans in New Orleans I would say they have just as many homers there as this board does.
Uh, where have you been the last decade??? Winning is what the Spurs do.
The regular season(pre-season for Spurs) is over. This is a different ball club than the one the hornets faced in the "regular season"......but you'll see.
If the Hornets don't expect to win, they are pussies.
I don't believe that for a second.
That's what happens when your team is elite for an extended period of time. If the Hornets manage to do what the Spurs have done in the last ten years, you will love the feeling. I like Chris Paul and the Hornets and am not bashing on them, but when it comes to the Spurs, they are first in my list.
Blah Blah Blah. This team in its present form is 3 years old.We used to have the oldest team before that instead of the Spurs but we cleaned house and started over. Now is our beginning and the Hornets have caught the NBA by surprise this year wouldn't you say? They will not back down because of your glorious past. Prove it on the floor starting tonight. We are not the Suns. We owned the Suns x4 this year so put those comparisons out of your mind.
No, I wouldn't say that. Now is our beginning and the Hornets have caught the NBA by surprise this year wouldn't you say?
And I wouldnt say the Hawks would have taken Boston to game 7 either. Youth and "needing respect" + Talent can be a pretty big force if channeled correctly.
You shouldn't be so y either. Spurs have never repeated.
WGAF about whether a fan is y?
You fans of other teams are so sensitive.
link?
Spurs say nothing about that. This series is a new start.

I don't really think either team has been y towards each other.
I dont want to get y or anything but I dont think the Hornets can win in our house. If they're going to win a game it'll be in their home-court so they better take advantage of that.
My prediction:
Spurs win 1 of these 2 games in New Orleans.
