Pop is really embarrassing the Spurs with that hack-a-shaq . It's sad because your team is good enough to stop NOH.
    I agree

Looks like Scott has decided he's gonna make Bowen beat them. I doubt he's up to it over the long haul.
    It's not even really Bowen.

He's bringing a hard double on Tim every time and forcing us to beat them from outside. NO is rotating to all the perimeter shooters but the big man isn't rotating out to Bowen quick enough (last one in the rotation as he is on the far side of the court from Tim on the block) so he's wide open.

Well you can't play the guy 40 some odd minutes.
Yeah and Pop trusts his bench players...something Suns don't understand.

The League needs to change that rule. If teams foul on purpose then the team they foul should be able to chose the player to shoot freethrows and get possession of the ball.
    How do you determine intent?

    Hes not?

Hmmmm, previous playoff performances say otherwise...
I don't think he'll continue to shoot 60% on 3s for the game, much less the series.

Well fouling a player off the ball is the first clue.

Manu is 3 for 3 from beyond the arc so far...and when he's away from the ball, he's way too fast for the Hornets' D...Ginobili will be the difference in this game, book it.

It's one thing to do hack-a-shaq to PHX, it made perfect sense to disrupt their rhythm like that. But you guys were doing a great job stopping NOH, instead Pop gave up 2 easy points to close out the half. Just stupid coaching IMHO.

So if a player accidentally trips a guy off the ball the other team should benefit?

Also, as long as they have Paul on Parker we need Tony going right at him. Paul wasnt able to stay with him and is too short to stop Parker from shooting over him. Get Paul's 4th foul early in the 3rd and really take him out of the game. Not a bad half on the road, but everyone outside of Bruce and Manu need to raise the level up to Spurs championship basketball. The Hornets can't hang with Spurs championship basketball. They've only played a Mavs team who was fighting with themselves after quitting on their coach.

If Duncan would wake up the Spurs wouldn't have to rely on three pointers so much.

The referees know when teams are going to do it. Like in the Phoenix series. Everyone and thier grandmother knew it was coming when Vaughn check into the game. I have even seen players tell the refs they were doing it.

    Calm down, people.

Touch-a-Tyson was a situational move designed to get the Spurs the ball one last time before the half. The coaches were gambling that (a) Tyson would miss one or both FTs and that (b) we would score to close out the half. In this case, the strategy didn't work.

But don't look for Pop to use it much in this series.

So what if you don't tell the refs?

You know what the easy solution is?

    Make the free throws.

    Go back to your bait.
