If we make it past the Hornets not too beat up, the best we could hope for, is for the Lakers to be pushed to 6 games by Utah.

    I agree,
Lakers played the regular season advantage well, they didn't drop too many games during their harder part of the schedule, which came pretty early as opposed to the other teams and locked up the # 1 seed.

Good win for the home team. To be honest, I was worried about this game because of the long layoff. It takes time to get into the game shape. I really thought the Jazz might steal game one (ala Phil in 2001). Say what you will about them just getting out of one series but they were primed to continue whereas the lakers were not. We have to work on our rebounding, which we all knew was a big advantage for the jazz but I'm sure Phil will make adjustments. That may have taken away the 1 game I was willing to give Utah, now it may be a sweep (wishful thinking...)

God...where do I begin? The good news is that our 2 best players played like and we were right there at the end. We had several chances but missed WIDE ING OPEN shot after shot in the 4th. Somebody needs to take Harpring out back and put him out of his misery. The guy is a ing joke. Boozer is pathetic. I was cheering when he picked up his 6th foul. I knew that was going to be the only way for him to get his fat ass off the court.

Deron played like , Brewer needs to stop shooting jumpers, AK and Okur were the only 2 that showed up. Funny that Deron called them out last year for going on vacation early and they were the only 2 playing hard. Deron needs someone to piss him off. He didn't have that killer instinct. He always plays better when he has a chip on his shoulder. We need Kobe to ask the media how to pronounce Deron's first name.

I'm happy we fought back and honestly that game was ours to win but we just couldn't hit a damn shot in the 4th. It makes is more frustrating though. I still feel pretty good about our chances in the series.

You're delusional. Jazz never had a chance to win this game, much less the series.

Uhhh..no it wasn't. It wasn't a close as you think. Lakers let up and you guys caught back up. Most teams let up with a big lead. I don't care how we win as long as we win. We didn't stomp you guys but there are no moral victories here. That game was not yours for the taking. I don't know what game you were watching. That was our game to lose. Anyhow, if we can manage to win the next one you guys are done. We can win in Utah and have so this season.

It was not that close, the Lakers got up by 19 and then relaxed. They've been doing that all year. Then when it starts getting tight, the Lakers clamp down again and the end result isn't even close at the end.

We had several chances but missed WIDE ING OPEN shot after shot in the 4th. Somebody needs to take Harpring out back and put him out of his misery. The guy is a ing joke.
The Lakers left Harpring wide open for a reason....wouldn't you?

Boozer is pathetic. I was cheering when he picked up his 6th foul. I knew that was going to be the only way for him to get his fat ass off the court.
Boozer wasn't that bad except for his 7 turnovers. Most of them weren't even forced turnovers.

We need Kobe to ask the media how to pronounce Deron's first name.
    Hahah Du-Ron

I don't think that game was close, the Lakers just didn't get it closed out. You won't win many games this year when MVP scores 38. You won't win many games going down by 19..it's possible but very unlikely.

No disrespect to the Jazz, I like DWill and Sloan but they're just way overmatched with no MVP stopper (ala Spurs, Suns)

lol...yeah, we had no shot at winning the game when we were within 4 and had the ball right? You can thank our pathetic 4th quarter shooting for the loss. LA isn't anything special. They beat up on a joke of a first round opponent. People need to stop thinking this team is immortal. We're not shooting 39% for the series, our star player won't play another game like he did today, our bench will play better, and Boozer will eventually get his head out of his ass (well, maybe not that one).

And you can take those 20 brooms and shove them right up your ass because there's no way in LA is sweeping this series. We played our second worst game of the playoffs and had a chance in the 4th. You guys can spin it all you want but when a team is within 4 points in the 4th, they have a chance at winning the game. Given the fact that we were playing pretty much a back-to-back in the playoffs and still were right there, I feel good about this series.

Then there's going to be a lot of Laker fans in shock because this series is going longer than 5 games. I didn't see anything from the Lakers today that made me think we have no shot against them. We just need to hit our wide open shots and we'll be fine. I blame tired legs for that more than anything LA did.

Well you should have closed out the rockets in 4 then like we did to Denver. Sounds like an excuse to me.

You're exactly right. Losing game 3 to Houston was a big loss in more ways than one.

Can you guys honestly sit here and tell me that our pathetic 4th quarter shooting was the result of LA's defense? Give me a break. If LA's defense was the reason for our brick laying contest in the 4th, I'd be the first to say so. It wasn't so you need to look for another reason why and the only other explination is a tired team. I don't give a about using that as an excuse because it's the truth. NOTHING the Lakers did in the 4th prevented us from making our shots.

Whatever..not like we played our best either. That make sense to you? Not everything is a one way street. I guess the 3-1 season series meant nothing to you either. If you're not worried you should be.

..... NOTHING the Lakers did in the 4th prevented us from making our shots.
The Lakers kept the Jazz from easy shots on the inside.

That's the problem with the Jazz, Boozer gets stupid fouls and he's the only inside player for the Jazz. So since he's afraid of getting more fouls, he stands and takes jumpshots instead of banging in the middle.

If the Jazz try to beat the Lakers with fade-aways and jumpshots, the Lakers will beat them everytime. If you watch the Lakers in the end, they didn't shoot jumpshots in the last 4-5 minutes, everything was at the basket.

You close out games by points in the paint, not outside jumpers...that is why Utah doesn't have a chance even if their outside shots are falling more.

you'll also understand that it has nothing to do with lakers, its up to us just as in the rockets(dont underestimate rockets they played great defence) series (we could easily sweep them but didnt need to try hard and lost 3rd game), the panic in the end and at 2nd quater made us lose the game, we can overcome that, we did before, i didnt see anything special with lakers it was just kobe(ok he is special) and our TO's, ofc. they'd play a couple of pick and rolls. If this series ends before game 7 it'll be in favor of jazz (i cant say anything about game 7). We'r not Nuggets, dont even think about an easy advance, we'r ready to a long and tough series, r u?

I wouldn't be surprised if Utah actually wins these series. They showed they can play LA mano a mano. They choked massively in the last 3 minutes. That was Williams' time and he ed it up. LA is going to have problems playing on the road against this team. The big problem is Okur here who is actually playing smarter than last season. Gasol got totally outplayed by him.

Unfortunately the thing I most remember from this game is PJ complaining about calls. Regardless of what he has won, he will go down in history as a classless coach, resorting to calling out refs for his team ing up. It's like he's expecting no calls against his team. Pathetic. And if you are going to challege this please make sure you get your facts straight before you do cause you are going to get owned.

If SAS wanted an easy route, they should have played harder in the regular season.
LOL you can't be serious? Give us Pau Gasol for loose change and see where we would have ended up. You certainly wouldn't have been the number 1 seed with out that trade.
