Loved the movie. Robert Downey made this flick shine!

. I was going to pass on it since Downey doesnt' really seem like the superhero type but I think I will see it now.

The casting of Robert Downey to play Tony Stark was genius...he's the perfect guy to play him. I'm glad Downey was willing to do it. Downey may not seem like a superhero type...but he's exactly like Tony Stark in real life.



Tony Stark is a somewhat brilliant inventor, an asshole and an ex alcholic and Robert Downey is a somewhat brilliant actor, an asshole and an ex drug addict. Best actor character match for a Superhero movie ever...seriously.

Honestly...it's almost like Downey modeled his acting career after Tony Stark long before he ever knew he'd play him. I don't have doubt Downey is a fan of the Iron Man character...there's no way he could have nailed the character and so perfectly captured the essence of Tony Stark's baggery if he wasn't.




I enjoyed it...didn't see the surprise ending though.

Well I saw an interview with Downey where he actually said he fought for the role. So I guess he has to be a fan...

Saw it yesterday and I liked it. I thought going in Robert Downey Jr. as Tony Stark was a bad idea.....but he pulled it off.

Loved the movie, wife loved it too...even though she thought she would hate it. Not typical comic book movie....more of a good story with some action, but not too much to bore the women fans.

Ultimates sucks, at least compared to other comics out right now. I have a huge problem with Jackson playing a role that has been changed just in the last few years. That character is one of marvels oldest, and they should have cast him as most marvels fans know him.

And the movie was the btw, the scene after the credits got me pretty pumped up.

Ultimates the series, or the entire Ultimate Marvel comic line? Because, while I haven't read too much of Ultimates, I've been reading Ultimate X-Men and Spider-Man since they came out.

Ah, wasn't sure. Eh, I don't really mind Ultimate Fury, because I understand that the Ultimate line was a "modernization" of Marvel's old stuff.... , they reworked Sinister even more than they did Fury.

Good film. Downey Jr. was really within his element as the prick. He's got the arrogant smugness that's hard not to like, no matter how demeaning. Good effects. Much more seemless than most other CGI-heavy superhero films.
