Get ready for a 6 or 7 game series, then. Adjustments will be made, but there's enough leaning in the Hornets' favor for a Game 2 victory.
Obviously, Tim Duncan will be back to his stellar self tonight and Tony Parker will make his way to the hoop ahead of everyone on the fast break or through everyone in the halfcourt, but does anyone really believe that Bruce Bowen (read that again... Bruce Effing Bowen) will have another game with FIVE 3-pointers? He alone had more than the entire Hornets roster (4) in Game 1. That won't happen again. Those two changes (Duncan improving his game and Bowen coming back down to his average) should pretty much cancel each other out.
Even with more focus on D-West, he'll still have a solid game. After all, he did average 23 ppg in four regular season meetings. I wouldn't be too surprised to see him limited to 20 points... but that would free up CP to get into his rhythm... something he didn't really do until the 4th quarter when the first game's outcome was all but decided. Extra attention on D-West will also make Tyson available for the signature "Crescent City Connection" alley-oops. If either Peja or MoPete is on tonight, the threat of their outside shooting is enough to seal the win. Add to all this the home crowd, and it's a tough, uphill climb for the Spurs. Of course, that'll only mean the Hornets have done their job of protecting homecourt. Gotta get one in San Antonio to make things interesting.
Biggest Changes:
Duncan (improved all around)
Bowen (offensively deflated)
Paul (improved aggressiveness)
Pargo (improved shooting)

, is only supposed to be used for the likes of good not evil.
