Hurrah let's take the next two.
Attention Spurs Fans - Good news!
The Spurs are going to be fine and advance to the next round. Trust me, I've been watching the Spurs closely since the days of Artis Gilmore.
Tim Duncan was sick in game # 1 with a 104 degree fever, and still sick in game # 2 with a 102 degree fever. He is not old, he had the flu. How can guys give up on Tim so quickly? We all know Tim so well, he was not himself in either game, especially on defense.
Tim is the best player in the NBA right now. Our next game is not until Thursday and Tim will be ready. We have two home games and the Spurs will be like a well-oiled machine. We will win in 6 or 7 games.
Tim Duncan is 23-5 in playoff series.
In each of the 5 losses, there is a logical reason the Spurs lost. There is no logical reason for the Spurs to lose to the Hornets:
1998 - Utah Jazz
Tim's rookie year versus Malone and Stockton
2001 - LA Lakers
The Lakers were a Superteam, better than the Spurs that year
2002 - LA Lakers
Same as 2001
2004 - LA Lakers
Tim was hobbled with ankle injuries all season. Healthy, the Spurs would have won.
2006 - Dallas Mavericks
Tim had planter facilitus. Healthy, the Spurs would have won.
2008 - New Orleans Hornets
Never count out a healthy Tim Duncan, unless he a a rookie or against a superteam. Neither applies in this series. Tim Duncan has dominated when it counts in recent history. He's NOT old yet.
He dominated against the Suns last year.
He dominated in the early games versus the Jazz last year.
He dominated in games one and two versus Cleveland last year.
He dominated in game one versus the Suns this year.
Look for the legend of Tim Duncan to GROW this year. Tim has never lead his team from being down 2-0. That's because he's so good he doesn't hardly ever get down 2-0. Tim was sick and not himself. Without Tim, the Spurs are not a good team. They have no shotblocking or rebounding, and not much better than the Milwaukee Bucks.
With Tim healthy, the Spurs will beat the Hornets, then the Lakers, and then the Celtics for our 5TH NBA CHAMPIONSHIP!!!!!

Hurrah let's take the next two.
The Spurs are not in trouble in this series!
Link?Tim Duncan was sick in game # 1 with a 104 degree fever, and still sick in game # 2 with a 102 degree fever.
umm, no. Bees in 6.
If you watched the Tim Duncan press conference after the game, a reporter asked him a question about "being sick" and he responded with a very stern " I was fine." That story is crap, and is just an excuse. Duncan wasn't sick for game 2 and they still gt blown out of the water. What's the excuse for that? Did Parker play blindfolded? Was Manu's feet bound together?
No offense, but this sounds an aweful lot like Suns complaints that we as Spurs fans dismiss.
That said, Manu and Bruce are pissed, and if Tim gets over this illness, then Spurs steamroll the Hornets in gm 3.![]()
The Spurs might win their one game tomorrow night. But this series is over.
Do you expect Duncan to admit he was sick or make excuses?
Manu & Parker had a touch of the flu as well, that's why practice was canceled on Sunday.
Nice. Duncan looks good to dominate. 3 days of rest should take care of that after-fever jitters.
You ever hear Derek Jeter admit to being hurt?? He could have a broken leg and he'd play on it and not say anything is wrong. Duncan is the same way. Man played a whole season in 2006 on one foot and never complained and said i am not the same because i am hurt. Tim Duncan is a ing warrior he does not make excuses for his play. They said it on the telecast last night that he was sick as a dog, spent the whole day in bed after game 1. Tim Duncan was ill you can take that to the bank.
I'm tired of hearing this " _____ is pissed" garbage. Tim Duncan was pissed and had an average game in game 2. Spurs fans have become delusional with their former success.
AHH i can't believe we are down 2-0 and one of the big reasons is all are guys got ing sick. This just sucks.![]()
Duncan is not going to light it up on offense when you double him every time he touches the ball. However he was sick in game 1, he never plays like that and if our guys start making wide open shots, we will be right back in this.
How is this series over when the Spurs are a great home team heading home with a chance to tie up the series???
You just made the switch?

i wish duncan couldve scored 40 points and lead his team to victory in game 1 that would have been dubbed the "flu game" in place of michael jordan.
I believe Duncan had a 103 fever. Pop/Duncan denied it in the press because they are not going to give any excuses for the loss.
I don't think any of the Spurs are/were sick.
Duncan didn't look sick in game 1. He just looked bad. But, it wouldn't surprise me if he were sick. But, that's not an excuse anyway. Teams don't care if a player is 100% or not. The win is all that matters.
Hey, Manu and Bruce are pissed. If you watched the game last night, that was obvious. Doesn't mean they're going to go off, or whatever, but they are pissed.
I didn't see anything to make me thing Tim was pissed off in game 2. There's also a big difference between a pissed of Tim and a pissed off Manu. Manu is like the Hulk, historically speaking.
All they need to do is switch Bowen to shutdown peja and TP on Paul. We have veteran shooters and their role is to shoot so I hope they wont pass up on an open/kinda open shot. Missed 3pters are usually long rebounds so that cancels out the hornets staying near the basket. It's a whole new different ballgame in San Antonio.
Spurs fans - back away from the crack pipes - you guys are hallucinating - after going down 0-2, only 5% of teams in NBA history have come back, and the Hornets are not the chokin' Mavs - Hornets in 5
