Hillary Will Drop Out By June 15
A senior campaign official and Clinton confidante has told me that there will be a Democratic nominee by June 15. He could not bring himself to say the words "Hillary will drop out by June 15," but that is clearly what he meant. I kept saying, "So, Hillary will drop out by June 15," and he kept saying, "We will have a nominee by June 15." He stressed what a reasonable person Hillary is.
Everything about our conversation implied that he had already had this reality-based discussion with Hillary. He said the Clinton campaign plan is to collect as many votes and delegates as they can right through June 3, then take no more than a week or so to make their case to the superdelegates. Nothing he said indicated that he actually expected the superdelegates to move to Hillary in the week after the final election. The Clinton campaign has not lost its grip on reality. Yes, Clinton spokespersons publicly seem to be lost on gravity-free planet Clinton, but privately they know the end is near.

If I'm not mistaken, Ted Kennedy carried fewer delegates than Hillary into the Democrat Convention the last time he ran.
If Hillary wants to make this last until the convention, she has the cajones, the will, and the machinery.
I concur. But she won't do that.
Yes, let's disenfranchise the good voters of Michigan and Florida. It's not their fault their state party broke the rules.
But, really, this movie was getting good. I don't want it to end yet.
They'll seat MI and FL and Hillary still won't catch Obama so that, IMO, is really a non-issue.

Really? Why didn't she concede already then? June 15th is a month away...if nothing's going to change, a right-minded politician would face the music, step up to the podium, and throw their support to the apparent nominee.

Yeah but she's running out of money which is worse because no one will donate to a lost cause campaign. I heard some of Hillary's speech today. She doesn't sound like one ready to give up just yet.
Lots of reasons why she didn't concede yet.
1) She's in debt. She can run longer and get further donations in order to alieveate the campaign debt. I personally think this is kind of ty considering how much Money she and Bill can make easily but I doubt she ever repays the loans she made to herself so w/e.
2) She's going to win WV and Ken by very large margins - if she concedes now its bad politically (although i don't' think its a huge deal) when she wins those states and isn't "in the race" anymore.
3) If she stays in it reaffirms no one pushed her out and if Barak falls on his face she can pull the I TOLD YOU SO card in 2012 and run again.
I see, she's selfish.
On number one, she can continue to raise money for a future Senate campaign and use that money to pay of any campaign debt incurred here.
#2? Nobody thinks it's a big deal. Happens in elections all the time.
#3, I think magnanimity is a better virtue than schedenfreude in politics.
Well, Victoria Taft's version of Operation Chaos if in full swing in Oregon, and it looks like democrat operatives in the elections office might lose their jobs over it! This has gone to the pont of people switching parties being called and questioned as to their who they will vote for. Now people who have changed party affiliation have not recieved their new ballots. We are vote by mail. There coild be some interesting legal actions occuring.
So many people not recieving their ballots! Lawyers are already following this.
The above link is Victoria'a blog. She doesn't cover this point in it. I'm sure she will when more evidence comes into play, but she has been interviewing people on her radio program.
Rumor is that she's 20 million in the hole already, including the money she lent herself, so we're not talking about a little hurdle here, her campaign has no money to continue campaigning in states were Obama leads....On number one, she can continue to raise money for a future Senate campaign and use that money to pay of any campaign debt incurred here.
My point was, dropping out of the presidential race does not hamper her ability to raise funds to relieve campaign debt. In fact, it might actually help...raising money for a future Senate Campaign is alot more legitimate than continuing to raise money for a failed presidential bid.
I still think she believes she'll pull this off somehow. There are shenanigans afoot.
well, you need money to campaign too, after all, Hillary and Bill have their own private jets...
I have to admit having money does help.
