I think I want this win tonight about as much as any other win the Spurs have needed.
Tonight, the Spurs stand on the precipice of history. The chase for 5, the long-awaited repeat, is teetering on the edge and so far the Hornets have looked ready to push the Spurs over.
Lose tonight, go down 0-3, and the series is virtually over. I won't ever count these Spurs out, but they would definitely be down.
Win tonight, and suddenly the Hornets are facing the pressure; the tables will be turning and suddenly the door would be back open to get this thing done.
Pop preached during the regular season that home-court wasn't as important as being experienced and healthy, and this is the time to prove it. No one should be surprised that this very good Hornets team was able to protect their home court. Now it's up to the Spurs to show some of that championship caliber and do the same, then go back and try to steal one in New Orleans.
Nothing will be decided tonight. There will be more games, and more seasons, and maybe even more championships. But this may be one of the biggest games in Spurs history. This is their opportunity to cement their place in basketball history, this season, right now. Tonight is one of the hardest strikes the Spurs will have to pound at this rock.
And you'd have to be a fool not to Believe.

I'm actually not really nervous about this game. At this point it's whatever happens happens. Here's to hoping the Spurs get back in this series
Nawlins
I'm pretty sure the kid's really beat up about it.
Like team staff consoling the the kid post-game.... "it's fine, it's fine...he was just (pausing struggling to speak his words) ...passionate, I understand that...the team was losing...I shouldn't have approached him--but those eyes...so HHATEFUL " quivering voice.
I mean, what if he looked up to Manu ?
"If I had just not INSISTED! on giving the towel so soon!" breaks down crying...really hard on himself. " ...So STUPID!"
He's probably seeking counseling as we speak.
manu better play better then james tonight
yeah, well we bee-lieve that our bee-fense will be buzzin'.
3-12 shooting so far for Lebron
Let's hope Manu and Lebron aren't tied together performance wise, because Lebron had a ty first game 2-18 but with high assists and rebounds...
while Manu had the same ty shooting the night before (while having high assists and rebounds)
Oh my God![]()
I'd like to see the guys play smart and hit some open shots. If we still lose so be it. I just can't take anymore stupid turnovers and missed open jumpers.
Go Spurs!!
They just mentioned on the halftime show that Ginobli will start over Finley.
go spurs!

sorry, no one steals that.
Mark Jackson has a very limited vocabulary...
I'm gonna be greedy.
Wonderful if the Spurs go 2-2. I'm pretty sure they will. My greed is that they take 3,4 as convincingly as Hornets took 1,2. Squeaking out 3,4 to hold home court ain't gonna scare the Hornets.
We need to really put The Fear of Spurs into New Orleans. (Spurs get some self-confidence to hit those shots)
It's gonna be long summer and esp painful if we get beat by 2 y punks with a sense of en lement.
Chris Paul, David West, and their nut punching, trash talking selves.
Go Spurs Go
Tonight is the start of the end for New Orleans. Sorry guys. It's still not your time.
do we have to wait for the celtics game to end before it starts??
Manu is starting and I believe they said that Parker will be on CP3. Good news so far I guess.![]()
This game has a lot left anyone know if they will go to ESPN 2 for the tip??
Cleveland has scored 56 points with 8 minutes left in the 4th
And to think they led the game by like 12 points.
-nuts.....it won't be your day.
Yeah and if that works out well tonight it might be too little to late thanks a lot POP.![]()
WTF it's 8:30 and the Bos/Cle game still has over 8 minutes to go in the 4th quarter!
