That ball got nowhere near Sexson's head. I guess when you're a career steroid user who is batting sub-.210 for 2 years, you tend to get a little crazy.
Ron Washington was right though, the biggest BS thing about that was him throwing his helmet like a ing pussy. Sexson is ing huge, and he has to be a and throw his helmet? Could there be a suspension for that?
Boy, Tom Grieve was pretty steamed last night after the incident. I had to watch it later (I was obviously watching the Spurs game last night) but some of my favorites from him regarding the fight:
"You got a chance to hit Ibanez, you got a chance to hit Beltre -- two GOOD hitters. You got a guy coming up there who can't hit water if he fell out of a boat. And you think hes gonna throw at HIM?"

This is funny on its own, but especially coming from an M's fan.
And to add to the Mariners' woes, they now have sole possession of last place in not only the West, but the entire AL.

He'll be pitching in the series that starts next week in Arlington. Sexson might be getting some action from the Padilla Flotilla.
ya he his pitching on Monday, should be a game to keep an eye on. I say throw up and in to Sexson and then when Sexson charges the mound...Padilla should run to 2nd base, pull it out of the ground and throw it at Sexson
Yeah, but wait til the later innings. Padilla has been pitching awesome as of late, I would hate to see him throw at him in the first couple of innings and get ejected when he has been throwing so well. Sexson isn't worth that, IMHO.
The more I think about it, the more I realize I DON'T want Sexson to get suspended. At first I thought a good 20-game suspension or so would be nice. But, that would actually HELP the Mariners by removing him from the lineup. As punishment, the Mariners must now keep Sexson IN the lineup for 20 games straight, rather than a suspension.
Can we suspend the whole lineup, please?
Hahaha ... I told you I didn't think they would be very good at the beginning of the season, but I honestly didn't think they would be this bad. That being said, I am damn happy they are in the basement instead of my boys.
I finally saw the highlights this morning......not even close to his head. Too many baseball players are like that these days. If they would have had to face the likes of Ryan, Drysdale and Gibson, they would have never survived.
Sexson is a piece of I agree 100% ... hopefully next time someone hits him in the head for real and ENDS HIS CAREER.
