The Suns are capable of this stupidity.
"Marbury in Knicks-Suns swap
Posted: Tuesday May 13, 2008 05:40AM ET
One of the first plays Mike D'Antoni is expected to draw up as the Knicks' new coach is for Stephon Marbury to run up the Garden floor ... and out the door back to Phoenix to rejoin the Suns. Once D'Antoni is formally named to succeed Isiah Thomas, he is expected to try to make a push for two of his favorite Suns - forward Boris Diaw and guard Leandro Barbosa, who reportedly have fallen out of favor with Suns management. According to a person close to D'Antoni, one of his first moves would be to get the Knicks to offer Marbury and his expiring $22 million contract as a central part of the deal."
Marbury playing as a back up to Nash?![]()
How on earth would the Suns agree to that?
I guess Sarver might think about it since Marbury's contract is expiring, but that would beyond idiotic.
I don't see that happening.....unless they move Marbury for other talent around the League once he's on the Suns. Or at least a 3 way.
Nash
Marbury
Hill
Amare
Shaq
Wow....for the wrong reasons....
I'm ALMOST starting to feel bad for what the Spurs have done to the Suns entire organization.
Diaw & Barbosa should be traded for melo if they have fallen out of favor with spurs management
I'm sure the Suns can't wait to do D'Antoni any favors.
Did you see D'Antoni on PTI today? He said game 1 was one of the reasons he left.
because they lost or because he just knows spurs have suns number?
Wait, so you mean that Diaw and Barbosa are undercover Spurs players playing on the Suns? That explains it!
Seriously though, no way. Marbury is one of those 'cancer' players that brings down the whole team 10x worse than Marion. At least Marion played hard every game.
the le of this thread should be changed that it doesn't imply that this trade is coming. even the suns aren't idiotic enough to do this trade. this was a ny reporter's fantasy and d'antoni's, nothing based in reality.

Even for cap clearing reasons this would be hard to understand. Those two are the only young players they have to put around Amare in 2 years. Most of the big time FAs will hit the market in 2010 when Nash and Shaq are both retired. That's when you should need the cap space.
I can't see this happenning even for the Suns. If Sarver does this, than he should be run out of town immediately.
Wow. I don't believe this trade goes down either, but it would be funny if it did. I would LOVE to see Suns Nation melt down after that one!
If the Ringless Wonders were to pull off the trade, wouldn't what the Spurs ultimately did to them remind you a bit of the pretty girl who got dumped by her high-school sweetheart? After she got treated like trash a few times, she ended up sleeping around and dating pretty much anyone who would talk to her, and ended up a toothless crack ?
good for you.
D'Antoni will trade Marbury, Crawford, QR, Randolph, Curry and David Lee for Shaq, Amare, Nash, Diaw, Bell and Barbosa; Knicks will win the East and take their revenge on the San Antonio Spurs in the 2009 NBA Finals
kerr could get a better deal out there
like calderon + filler....RASHO? FOR Diaw and barboza
When havent the suns stunk?
ok.
one this trade CAN'T happen. 21 mil for marbury, v 15 mil for diaw and barbosa.
two, kerr likes diaw now that he's seen how to play him at the 3.
barbosa while erratic at times, is still a good player and for what he's capable of, is fairly cheap.
