I was completely expecting a win tonight, but mostly because I expected the team to come out and play their hardest all 48 minutes. Instead, Duncan was playing exactly as Tpark says, and it seemed to filter to Parker and Manu come 3rd quarter.

On the plus side, hornets have still not done much different. We are still open for practice-esque threese out there. All. ing. Game.

he was better then some spur players
blaming tp for this loss is wrong
TP played like a passive puss in the 3rd. I've never seen him play worse.

Whats Tony parker have to do with Duncan?

Parker was lousy as well, but the threads about Duncan. Duncan is the franchise. They follow his example. No one follows Parker's example. When he plays soft and passive, everyone else does. If he would've came out on that first play and drove right at the GD Hornets and wanted blood, this game goes to the Spurs and series. But no, he decided that he wanted to get bailed out and play like Dirk Gasol.

    Absolutely disgusting
absolutely right. I don't know how he's going to sleep tonight, or tomorrow night for that matter. He COMPLETELY let everyone down tonight.

And for all those who say "oh yeah expect a big game from Tim tomorrow", "he'll go for 30/15", etc. it's not going to happen. There's just something that's not right about him in these playoffs. I think a lot of it has to do with his touch and confidence. He's getting NO bounces whatsoever.

Key to game 6 is to run motion with Tony and Manu until the Hornets are dizzy. Tim is not the answer in this series.

I will give him credit for the 20 plus rebounds.

Had he given that much effort on the offensive end, this game is 100% different.

No the key is Tim duncan's aggressiveness.
Parker can't penetrate and get his job done unlesss Duncan is playing like Duncan. Same for Ginobili.

The whole series rests on how aggressive and how much Tim Duncan wants to win the GD series. That simple.

    Agreed, very passive, very indecisive.

Give credit to the Hornet's defense on Parker though, they doubled him out high on the pick and rolls and forced him way out wasting clock and getting them out of their sets.

I really have no clue how you adjust to that. They totally took away the pick and roll tonight.

Hey, Tony was getting hammered, but Tim just played like a big 7' puss on the offensive end.

But Duncan sets the tone offensively.

He was passive and soft, so the rest played passive and soft.

I really can't single out one guy that I thought brought a good effort tonight. Not one. Whats even more maddening? You do that, adn YOUR STILL DOWN 8 WITH 4 MINUTES TO FREAKIN PLAY!!!!!!!!!

I was kind of afraid of this when Duncan made the comment about how they had figured out where the doubles were coming from on him. It told me we were going back to 4down, and that he was going to play complacent.

And we did, and he did. And Pop kept going back to the same dried up well.

Manu the magnificent has disappeared. Could never hit a crucial jumper and his defense for the most part was horrible.

4 down works, when Duncan is agressive.

    IE game 4.

It was a very strange game. I'm looking forward to timvp's analysis. I started watching in the 3rd quarter.

I noticed that we seemed discombobulated and confused; certainly not the thing one should see with a veteran team. We were throwing the ball away, and making sloppy, weak moves. Just getting the ball to Tim was a big ordeal, and once he got it, he waited around as if he was afraid something bad was going to happen.

I wish Tony would have told him to "stay aggressive"!

Blame manu and parker all you want but Duncan sets the tone offensively and he was the one missing point black shots all night!

Like 8 ing easy points in the first half he missed.

Atleast parker was busting his ass out there most of the game.

I find it hard to believe someone who has been in the league as long as tim would fall victim to overconfidence in a game this important but i just don't know anymore.

I am pretty let down. I wasn't calling the series over but damn.

We can't seem to shoot in NO? Why?

We have to win out or it's all over. I feel like we got shafted on calls but at the same time they took some sort of modest approach to start with. We started another game missing easy shots...

I believe we can do it. Tim has to just attack. I do not see us losing in the 2nd round to the Hornets. Not every game is going to get called like that. Just no more mistakes or Tim can just go chill for the summer.

    I agree with TPark.

My post from another thread ...

Tim was extremely disappointing to me today. Chandler got his second foul midway through the 1st quarter and went out. Tim should have feasted right then. He didn't. He put up weak shots around the rim and looked SLOOOOOOOOOOOOW. I know he got 20+ boards, blahblah. I don't care. This was his game to dominate the interior and he didn't do it.

The spurs had at least 2 or 3 opportunities up by 6-8 pts to put it away but then you had some clear shots missed, etc. It was closer than what people think but with your main guy playing like a pussy you can't win.

Nonsense Tim played hard, sometimes the shots just don't fall. Early he was trying to beat the double teams then later in the game he tried to get better spots on the court but he was off his game tonight, it happens. He drove the lane 3 or 4 times tonight and missed the same shots he hit in game 4 when everyone said he was a beast. I did not see Duncan not trying out there he tried, he is a champion it wasn't his night. Manu and Tony had chances and did not do much of anything either, the big 3 laid an egg on offense period.

Tim, for as much as i love him, was really bad tonight. Manu is killing us like he did or almost did in a lot of game this PO. I want him at his real level.
Tony wasn't outstanding tonight, but he scored 18 pts at 50 %. (manu was at 33 % and tim at 28 %). you can't blame him for not being the savior every game. (above all when he doesn't get any praise when he is).

but right now, i don't give a who is playing well or not. we need at least two players of our big three to score some point at a good FG %.

i don't know but i didn't like that when they had to face adversity (NO aggressiveness or bad officiating), they just basically gave up being too passives.

Problem is, he has these off nights very frequently now. In fact it's happening so frequently that I'm starting to get worried. His shooting touch has simply become unreliable.

I'm sure we will hear Tim had some type of illness Jordan gets sick and puts up 40, the "greatest" PF of all-time gets sick and has an excuse.
