It's axiomatic in the modern world for a manager to give the employees input into the decision-making process. It invests them and also helps them understand what is going on. Especially in the NBA, where the players wield more power than the coaches.
The Spurs are run more along military lines, facilitated by the unselfish, team-first at ude of the players. Probably this is a more effective strategy, but it's so rare to find multi-millionaire thoroughbreds who are going to unquestioningly follow orders.
That being said, I don't think this is a good thing for the Hornets. If they are questioning their whole approach this late in the season... it's Mavs '07.
