No, while the series is probably over in favor of the Hornets, the era is not over yet.
I agree. I do think the Spurs need to start re-tooling around the big 3 though....bring in younger players....upgraded as they are still a contender.

I expect that the Spurs will go through some middling years but if they acquire younger talent to complement the 3, they will eventually be champions again.

Uh, no. I don't particularly think they'll win Game 7 in a gym they haven't been compe ive in for most of the season.
They weren't particularly compe ive in Detroit in '05 either.

Duncan's not getting any younger...they don't have time to have 'middling years'.

There's no time to wait for 'eventually'. The time is now.

I just don't get you people who give up on the team just because they're not front-running the league. Whatever happened to sticking by your guys through thick and then? Whatever happened to having faith in your team just for the pride of it?

Sure, you can break it down and say WHY you think things look bad. But you should still have faith in them to get it done, and appreciate them even if they don't.

I always thought cheering for a team only when it is doing well was kinda of the definition of band-wagoning, eh?

The logical answer for that is that teams with the highest point differential normally win! --"heart", "swagger", and "pride" aside!

However, the mass depression is ridiculous. We just have to win two in a row against a team that is not much better than us. Much stranger things have happened.

    no.
If any team can make a comeback it's the Spurs. Stop listening to those bandwagon "expert" analysts.

Uh, no. I don't particularly think they'll win Game 7 in a gym they haven't been compe ive in for most of the season.

Now to all those who bash my credentials of being a Spur fan just because I'm calling them out----I didn't say I wasn't watching, or rooting, or praying, for them to pull it out. I was simply observing that past Spur teams would have found a way to get the clutch 'W' in Game 5, instead of playing like a JV team for half the game. Now if they can show their mettle in Games 6 and 7, I'll be proven wrong. I've been wrong before, and I'll be wrong again. I just don't think I am this particular time.
Now that I can understand and you're right. The Spurs teams we've come to know and love would've never backed themselves into such a 2-game corner of desparation. But as some have said, maybe that's what this team needs to find their motivation - especially in the 3rd quarter.

We'll soon find out if they have the stuff needed to sweep both these games.

I understand your comment now. It was simply that "end of an era" statement that I thought was a bit dramatic and somewhat over-the-top.

That's called being realistic...the Hornets are like the Jazz...unstoppable at home...

What happened to you TD? You used to always used to predict wins.

Spurs can and will beat them if they stay aggressive and crack them. The Spurs were skipping skeps in Game 5.

The risk of elimination will bring out a fire in this team that we haven't seen yet.
