Please remember that San Antonio took in thousands of Katrina victims. We worked 24/7 trying to take care of them all - I was in the Levi Strauss shelter and saw it with my own eyes. San Antonians are compassionate people and they proved it when they went way beyond the call of duty during this crisis.

People just get carried away here sometimes and say things they'd never say otherwise. No one thinks that Katrina was funny.

ive been reading this board for a while....what a bunch of uneducated people...yeah there are few intelligent posters amomg you, but for the most part its amazing what one can read here...and from the one hornets fan report of game 4 visit in san antonio....it seems there is no difference between spurstalk.com and at&t center..same oeverall low class with occasional class guy

first....hornets blow you off in first two games....you go crazy, blaming and ing everyone on your OWN team , the coach duncan ginobili everyone....everyone sucks ...nobody believes anything more and the series is over ..almost everyone gave up!

than you got back in games 3 and 4..... and suddenly duncan is healthy and suddenly you control the series...suddenly you are the "old" spurs...and pop is the greatest in world and you all love him....and hornets dont have a chance and you wil win 4-2

than yesterday you got blown off again....than again this pessimism and bad excuses and so on....ohh we are not the old spurs....duncan is sick...referees....ohh ohhh ohhhh ...

the series are very tied...the only difference seems the home court advantage right now...that means teams are even almost.....and it will highest likely come to a game 7 thriller....hornets have the home advantage in game 7, but spurs have the experience-advantage and when the season is on the line and 2 minutes left..... a hornet player will more likely get affected than a spurs player..but you never know

and stop ing like you were a better team before....the west div. has maybe NEVER been as good (or at least for a long time) as it is now and the road to the championship is way harder than for any of your previous roads you have made..And you are doing it fine...if it was as good as this in any of the previous years..... you would still have the same trouble you have now ...if you faced this hornets team before you would still face same trouble

peja takes away your best defender....cp3 owns parker...west is WAY better than he gets credit for...almost as good as duncan right now..yesterday way better......!! we have a better center ... you have a better bench....

Everything I owned was flooded and molded, my office the same, half my clients gone, my fiance now wife moved an hour away, my best friend and roomate at the time moved to Lafayette. My other best friend to Gonzales. I played flag football every sunday, that field is no longer useable, and half my team is in different states. You name it, it will never be the same. And I lived in Metairie, a mostly unaffected area. Doesn't do much good when the roof rips off. And that's not half as bad as most every Hornets fan you run into had it. None of these people here would dare come to NO and make a Katrina joke. That's a fact. We know that, but it still won't stop the reactions.

Anybody who makes jokes about the victims of Katrina are stupid mother ers. I don't care whose basketball team they support. People in La were ravaged--they lost homes, relatives, and part of the culture which will take time to rebuild.

Have a heart, dammit! Basketball is a game. Katrina was a disaster that will take decades to cope with. The images of people dying in wheel chairs outside the Superdome was something I will never forget.

I'm so sorry to hear all this, but I completely understand. I met some of the nicest people I've ever met in my life during the two weeks I worked at the shelter, and some of them have stayed here in San Antonio. They're very good friends of ours now, and one family lives right down the street.

I'll tell you what I learned from that experience, as trite as it sounds: I learned that we were far more blessed by being around these wonderful people than they were to be around us.

You're absolutely right that no one would dare go to NO and make a Katrina joke. I'm just really sorry that some of us are doing it here and hiding behind the anonymity of a computer.

The Hornets do have great "potential", but it's entirely possible that they could become just another Jazz of the 90's, or end up like this decade's Suns or Mavs.
