The problem with Despurado is that he's talking about injuries when there wasn't any in this play. He was already injured ffs!
Sad to see Big Shot Bob reduced to a cheap goon. To my fellow Spurs fans, sorry, but Horry knew exactly what he was doing. Classless.
Get well David West. Come to game 7 healthy so my Spurs can bust your ass fair and square.

I was there too. And I didn't say no one clapped for him. So I don't know your point of trying to correct me but whatever.![]()
now you're certainly not a fan of this team.
you are a ing pussy.. man get a clue
hmm i detect a small bit of sarcasm here
Only GayAndConfused who isn't a real lakers fan is spilling his venom in this forum tonight
Someone probably already mentioned this but what pissed me off was Mark Jackson's idiotic excuse for commentary on the situation.
He was praising Horry for intentionally hurting/injuring West, saying that was his prime motivation for trying to set the screen.
I was getting more pissed off the more he talked until Van Gundy talked some sense into the broadcast by flatly stating the obvious, that there was no real malicious intent. Just a semi (SEMI) hard screen set in a crucial playoff game.
Hornets fans cheered when Bowen got clotheslined by Bonzi.
Spurs fans paid it back with interest.
Anyone who has a problem with it can go find another board to on.
Oh and of course, I winced when I heard the chants of "Horry! Horry!" while it cut to commercial.
That was horrible and pretty damn dumb and classless. I felt a little bit of actual shame for being a Spurs fan in that moment, even though I'm not even in the same state as those people.
McCutcheon didn't even call the foul until West was on the ground.
Shut up you coach hating Panzi. I prefer to be smug and look down at the world rather than stoop down to it.
world being other nba teams and fans.![]()
I guess so, and West had been a punk on certain occasions...along with some of his teammates, but c'mon...that's just wrong.
I hate when fans do that...be it high school games, college, pro, baseball, football, whatever. It shouldn't happen. I know it does and will continue, but you won't find me participating in it.
That wasn't even a faul, he stood firm leaning forward expecting a contact. West jumped backward and landed on horry, end of story. Like its horrys fault west has back problems. happens
This thread is a testament to the deterioration of reading and comprehension skills in the U.S.
There has been a vanishingly few number of Spur fans who have said that Horry's play was dirty. The overwhelming majority have said it was a hard foul but not out of the ordinary. Yet there's all kinds of vapid rants about people not supporting Horry. Well, that's not the issue.
The issue is Spur fans cheering because an opposing player was lying injured on the ground. You can rationalize it any way you want, but the fact is there would have been no chanting if it had just been an ordinary foul called without an injury. The chanting was bull . And, if as Kori says, there wasn't the customary polite cheering when he did get up, that's bull , too.
And anybody who wants to question my Spur fandom.

Couldn't agree more with that post.
My issue was never really with horry to begin with, it was with the fans afterwords.
Wait did you just do a complete 180 after reading Kori's post?![]()
What about the comments that they were cheering for the hard foul and not about West getting hurt?
I can rationalize them chanting Horry as being in support of Horry, because they were chanting Horry and they were doing it for a Spur player actually dispensing a hard foul for once in this series...they weren't cheering West being injured, they were chanting Horry...why make it about David West?
How often is a guy taking a shot in the back a serious injury? Was there anything remotely violent or excessive about that play? Like there is on the order of a player heads bouncing off the wood or his knee bending into an unnatural postion?
It was simply a case of Horry saying these guys, like David West and Chris Paul say to their teamates every time down the court, attack their weakness and show them no mercy, you have to be hard to win championships...and Spurs letting him know they appreciated it.
It wasn't about David West...it was about Robert Horry, and the post season Warrior that he is.
Rewatch the game, take a look at Horry's face when he shoots the 3 after that play, be sure to note the total lack of thought about David West's fate...and you will see exactly why that man has 7 NBA championships...and if you look back at any of his backbreaking plays...you will see that same look on his face. I will always cheer that Robert Horry showing up on the court. He's earned it. And it means damn good things for his team.
Meanwhile...if you didn't turn in your Spurfan card after his hit on Nash...and IIRC you didn't...I don't expect you'll be turning it in now...so by all means, enjoy that ride on the high horse![]()

comeback next season!
Yea! And what about joking and downplaying the whole situation? Pull your nose out of Kori's ass son..
Well Said.
Also there is no need to give the Hornets an emotional charge to get them going in game 7. The Spurs are going to have their hands full in every way in game 7. And it's going to be very difficult to win without the Hornet's being extra motivated.
Here's to game 7. It's gonna be a of a game.![]()
Spurs get a blowout win.
Spurs fans fight afterwards
The SpursTalk way.
There was some. But very little compared to similar situations in the past.
