Not stupid at all. Utah only lost 5 games at home all year (before today).

They're a great team, bad matchups or not. I doubt SA would've won a game there.

And Lakers beat them there TWICE this year.
Any team can beat the Jazz the way they came out tonight. The Spurs would most likely dominate this Jazz team the way they played in this series. Boozer was garbage just about the entire playoffs and blew a ton of easy layups in this game. His play alone practically gave the game to LA and they still couldn't even hold on to a 13 point lead with about 4 minutes to go. Deron Williams almost capped off one of the biggest collapses I've seen in quite awhile.

The Lakers in my opinion shouldn't even have been in the second round. They're just shooting their way to the WCF's, nothing impressive. No skill required. Anyone can go out and shoot some hoops.

This is the second dumbest thing I read in this thread...

The first being your "The Lakers had it easy in the playoffs because they were the one seed"
    comment.

    Duh!

    How about this one?
Whoever wins monday between NO and SA will meet the Lakers in the WCF!

    There..that's my comment.

The "collapse" was entirely due to Phil's poor rotations. He does this all the time in the regular season where we'd have a nice double digit lead and he takes out the entire starting lineup and puts in the 2nd unit. This has cost us games in the regular season, didn't think he'd have to balls to do this in an elimination game.

But that's what makes Phil, Phil. Can't argue with 9 rings.

Well, Exciting game 6. Everyone is posting with passion for their favorites, of course! Just relax and enjoy what could be the greatest season in NBA history. There were about 10 teams with a legit chance to win it all when the playoffs started. Now we are down to 6. Two more teams exit in a few days. Those games are going to be very nerve-wracking. I think both will go down to the wire. Whoever's left in the conference finals will be in dogfights. I like the Lakers' chances, but I am biased just as everyone else here is.

Don't underestimate your opponent, and respect all these great teams. No woulda's or coulda's allowed, if your team doesn't make it into the next round, that was their fate.

Spurs can't even win on the road, how the heck are they supposed to win in 5?

The Spurs have no answer for Odom and the Lakers are too big and quick for the Spurs. Odom is as big as your Center Fabricio but he's quicker.

Tyson Chandler's bothering Duncan, Gasol should do an even better job on Duncan.

Only Tony Parker has the edge over the Lakers. It will be a better matchup than the Hornets but the outcome of the series is already decided.
Are you ing kidding me ?

I'm afraid Duncan's going to give Gasol some serious fits.
Gasol better man up if he goes up against Tim.

Unfortunately, Duncan probably has something wrong with him.

Duncan's not getting much lift so any agile Center with length is bothering his shot right now. Pretty much like that last Spurs/Laker game of the season. Duncan's having a terrible series against Chandler.

Tony Parker is the only advantage the Spurs have right now besides being the defending champs. I'm trying to not be biased but I can't see anywhere else the Spurs have an edge.

Why are Spurs fans even worrying about the Lakers? You guys haven't proven that you can win a game in NO. I think NO will get alot of "home cooking" calls in game 7.

Come on man, that's the dumbest thing i've ever read. Gasol's defense is attrocious, while Chandler has been doing a pretty decent job on Duncan. Look for Duncan to get Gasol in foul trouble early and often if these 2 teams meet in the WCF.

Only Tony Parker has the edge over the Lakers.
Fisher doesn't have the quickness to matchup with Parker, look for TP to go off for 30 ppg and penetrate at will.

You guys better hope New Orleans knocks them out of pray for a miracle, i'll be pulling for you guys. I can't stand to see the Spurs win back to back championships off Horry cheapshots.

He looked okay the last game. Duncan >>>Boozer.
Lakers are no doubt the underdogs against the Spurs.

Odom will guard Duncan. Gasol will guard Oberto/Thomas. Lakers definitely matchup better to the Hornets than the Spurs from what I see. With that said I'll still root for the Hornets.

Duncan's not the type of player that just "destroys" his opponents. If he has a good game, he'll get his typical 20-10, if he has a bad game, he's practically invisible at times. He's not exactly Shaq prime in the paint.

Great win for the Lakers. The Jazz players must be sick......just playing a tad better down the stretch in each of their losses could've gotten them a game 7 or even a win in a tough series.

But it wouldn't matter; I knew the Lakers would win whether it was a game 6 or a game 7.

And the Lakers will probably win game 1 of WCF by a large margin giving that they will have at least 3-4 days to recuperate.

Let Lakers fan rejoice; finally after all these years they have something to celebrate..........

No, you're wrong. Gasol will guard Duncan just like he did in the 2nd to last game of the regular season. By the way, Duncan shot an amazing 6-19 that game.

How about playoff experience ? Defense ? The fact that they don't go down easily. They might not beat NO on Monday...but I'd bet it won't be a blowout.

I think you have Gasol wrong, he's not an overall poor defender. He's an excellent one-on-one defender but a weak team defender. He can guard any big man very well, but he can't play help defense well. No big man ever owns Gasol, but his teammates do.

Gasol has pretty much owned the previous DPOY, Marcus Camby. He also owned Boozer pretty much through the series.

Gasol did very well against Duncan during the season but it's the Playoffs so we shall see.

If you single team him, he will get big numbers. Most teams can't afford for their player to get in foul trouble so they double team. Making it more important for the other players to step up.

Anyway, Lakers-Spurs will be ing amazing (unlike Lakers-Hornets, it would be too easy for L.A)

Oh I know, he's a great player, but Spurs fans talk about him like he's Kobe or something. When Kobe gets hot, he'll drop 50 on you, if Duncan gets going he'll probably get about 30 or so. I think Parker might be the bigger mismatch against the Lakers rather than Duncan. Lakers can matchup fine with Duncan. Odom scares me, when he gets going, the Lakers offense is so damn explosive. Everybody always criticizes their defense ( and they have a good point) , but I have yet to see a team consistently contain the Lakers offense since the Gasol trade.

I think the Pistons are the TOUGHER matchup ASSUMING Chauncey is healthy ...but it is foolish to ASSUME that we WILL beat NO or SA ...
Ill be honest for the sake of shutting up the Spurs fans here in SA and to have the chance to MAYBE ending the Spurs le run ...I want SA next round. BUT in my mind I know that closing out SA will be much tougher than NO ...because of the experience and the greatness of Duncan, Manu & Tony
Good luck may thebest team win ...if we cant beat the winner of that team regardless of whom then we aint gonna win the le anyways

Marcus Camby?!? What kind of game does he have except that ugly looking 20 foot brick he likes to shoot? Boozer sucked just about the whole playoffs and missed a ton of looks that he should have made blindfolded. Gasol's defense is not good to say the least. I don't think the Lakers even have much of an interior defense. Paul or Parker+Ginobili will live in the paint next series. And it doesn't really matter who Gasol faces in the next round. Either West or Duncan will have their way with him.
