use that game 7 intensity on your side. Lakers are rested and hopefully kinda rusty. spurs need to come up with fire to steal game 1. no doubt they can do this. Lakers are a youn and inexperienced team as a cohesive unit. steal game 1, shatter thier confidence

You beat me to it.

Espcially with back-to-back road games.

It doesn't matter, unless the Spurs's get a ton of OFFENSIVE rebounds their rebounding advantage won't matter much. The Lakers are a pretty efficient team, they don't miss a lot of shots because 90% of their shots are layups.
And they won't get as many layups vs the Spurs.

Spurs D >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Jazz + Nuggets D
Odom? Really?

If they had Bynum, it might present a matchup problem. However, without Bynum I don't see Odom as much of an issue. Will he score 10-12, possibilly. I can live with that.

More important question. Who is LA going to put on Bowen?
You know, there's a lot of deja vu of the cir stances from 1995, with the Spurs on the other end of things.

Old team, defending champions, finishing tough seven-game series with road win, goes to face young upstart #1 seed with newly-crowned MVP in conference finals on only a couple of days of rest.

Hopefully, history will repeat itself.

Funny, I was thinking the same.

This Spurs team reminds me a lot of the 1995 Rockets

The Spurs might have a shot at Game 2 but not Game 1. Just coming off a Game 7, sleeping on an airplaine and with no time to prepare. Add in an amped Laker team with nice comfy beds and playing in Staples?

I suspect Game 1 will see the Spurs get blown out.

if the spurs lose game 1, they will win the series because they play better under pressure and that brings out the character they have in them and what happens if Joey Crawford is the ref for game 5?

This can be looked at 2 ways. A rusty complacent Laker team against an amped Spurs team on an emotional high. To be honest I expect to see more fatigue problems for the Spurs in game 2 than game 1.

But I certainly hope the lakers are expecting a blow out in game 1.

discoflux has the feel of a laker fan. cant put my finger on it.

man you guys are pre-emptively crybaby gots.
The calls will even out.
Many times Lakers get FT differential because we are ahead and intentionally fouled at the end.
Another reason is we play a very clean, crisp, effective form of offensive basketball that forces defenses to hack us. Many times we get FT differential because we are better on offense than you are on D. If you guys can play solid D then you will not see a FT disparity. Play basketball and shut your cakehole.
damn im good.

We're not stealing anything. We're going to LA and we're taking Game 1 AND 2.

Key is Duncan's defense on Gasol. Make Gasol look like Kwame Brown on the offensive end = Lakers become last year's team minus Bynum.

Rebounding. Beat the Lakers on the boards and you beat the Lakers.
