I was at Game 1 and no one did anything to any of the Spurs fans. Kori has attended games at Staples as has Man in Black and I am sure they will tell you the Laker fans are fine, save for a little good natured heckling.

If you are going to wear an opposing team's jersey into any arena, you should expect a little ribbing.

Only time I have seen it personally get slightly out of hand at Staples was during that bitter Kings series in 2002. After Horry hit "The Shot" in Game 4, the crowd was all over the dork Kings fans leaving the arena and I did see one guy get his gay little Kings Paper Crown hat ripped off his head and shredded in front of him by a hard core Mexican gang looking type. But I didn't mind, the Kings fans had been talking a lot of that series and during that game when they were way up before pulling a Spurs.

lol, pulling a spurs? is that the new phrase?

I'm 29 years old and I've watched the Lakers all my life...Even when we had Sedale Threatt, Vlade and Elden Campbell....You're quote is such an ignorant statement....
I dont remember seeing any Spurs fans prior to Duncan......

see how stupid that comment sounds
Don't get your feelings hurt over it. That's just the way it is. I'm glad you're the exception though.

Your Duncan comparison is a little off though. SA has always been pretty Spurs crazy. It's only in recent years that the enthusiasm from locals has faded because they've been spoiled by the team's success. In a few years after TD retires, we'll see who the real fans in SA are.

If you're in LA watching a Lakers game and talking to a bunch of drunk Laker fans, you probably deserve a beating. Wouldn't be any different if I went to San Antonio, wore my bright ass yellow jersey, drank some XX and started telling the Locals that the Spurs are a pussy-ass asterisk* team.

Either way, classy or no classy, Spur or Laker fan, you know you're getting a beat down.

I actually had a good experience with Lakers fans. We were in L.A. obviously and we had our Spurs hats and jerseys on (this was during the '05 playoffs). A Laker fan stopped us and said "Hey I have a question, did the Spurs win tonight?" and we told him they did. He said "Well, that's good for them they are a great team, enjoy the win." And we told him and his family thanks. As we were leaving, he said "Oh wait, one more question, how do you like Derek Fisher?" We all laughed and I said "We don't".

Laker fans in LA are all s. I've never disliked their team; just their loser fans. Laker fans are real quiet unless they win the game, then they act like hardasses.

I've worn Spurs stuff to many Spurs-Lakers games and have only had problems once -- that was the only time I sat in the upper bowl "nose bleed" section. If you sit in the higher-priced seats the Laker fans are very courteous.

On the other hand, Slayer, I recall one time at that Santa Monica Hooters you mentioned. You were there too -- it was during a Spurs-Lakers playoff game with some obnoxious fans. I don't know if you remember this (or were even aware of it) but I followed a couple of those guys into the mens room after they seemed to be following you in there. Fortunately, nothing happened (other than the Spurs winning the game).

The unifying principle seems to be that that the more affluent (and sober) Laker fans seemed to be the best behaved. I would venture to guess that's probably true of Spurs' fans also. What a shock!

I think it was that same night. I remember it as two people who came up you, Slayer. Those LA fans were s though... they didn't want to do as soon as you pushed them back

That's a ing lie. Houston a hole in the middle of . LA has to be the most fun major city in the country to live in.

All you can do in Houston is step outside and get shot, or get steamed alive in the humidity. LA has the beach, the mountains, great food, and lots of other things to do, not to mention perfect weather.

How so? The beach is free (unless you go down to Bolsa Chica in Orange County). Hiking doesn't cost anything.

LA has one of the most spectacular drives in the country up the Angeles Crest Highway. PCH and Mulholland ain't bad neither.

LA's got two spectacular museums, the Getty Center, and the Getty Villa that are absolutely free, and are world-class.

Vasquez Rocks up on the 14 is a great place to go spend a day screwing around. Entrance Price: $0.

I know Houston's technically not too far from the beach either, but I'd rather go swimming at the Riverwalk than in the cess pool of Galveston.

Thanks for the backup, Russ and Base.

I read an email that a Spurs fan that we all know in LA sent out and he mentioned that it was getting ugly after game one for him. He did sit in the upper level, like you mentioned, Russ.

I just wanted to let some of the newer LA Spurs fans to know what to expect since this series is just starting out.

I get uncontrollably mad after Spurs losses lately. I'm in too deep

I saw a laker fan in Austin take a beer stein in the side of the head because he wouldn't shut up about his team in 2k2. If you push the wrong person these things are likely to happen.

Now I will say that if I was threatened by an idiot laker fan I would have to give him the opportunity but I have a lot of confidence in my ability to defend my self.

The Beaches and the State Parks are my favorites. That's one of the beauties of LA. You could have a great time with little to no funds. Pack a basket and go to the park or to the beach etc... works for me!
