If you don't think these 2 wins weren't more meaningful than simply "holding serve", you're re ed.
You just held serve. Deal with it.

Parker and Gino are vastly superior to those guys (though they haven't played like it in this series). You are crazy.

The difference between the teams is 1) the Lakers' best player is better than the Spurs best player, and 2) the Lakers 4th-10th guys are far, far, far better than the Spurs'.

Kobe Vs Duncan has nothing to do with this at all, Duncan outplayed Kobe in game 1, Kobe outplayed him tonight. This is mainly about Manu being hurt and having nothing to offer this series.

Kobe is the best basketball player in the world. If you don't agree with that statement, you are a) wrong, b) not a particularly astute basketball observer, and c) quite obviously a homer.

    Sorry.
I think Kobe is the 'best' basketball player in the world. I just dont think the people throwing that term around necessarily mean it in the way of impacting a game. No doubt Kobe is the better offensive player and more skilled... i just think you swap Kobe and Duncan and the Spurs lose a fraction... i thikn you put Tim on LA and thats still a contender..

    Just my opinion.

    Kobe is great though.

Thats not the differenc ein this series.. right now Tim is abusing Pau and playing great D on him... and were still getting our asses handed to us cause Manu has turned into Brent Barry... and the Lakers 4-10 guys are killing ours.

If SA goes down in this series, I sincerely hope that they bust up a couple of the Lakers players so their chances are diminished.

Spoken like a true sore loser. If you live in Texas, keep your inbred ass there for the rest of your virginity-ridden life. Wishing injury on the opposing team is about the lowest garbage you can do, even if the player's killing you.

You're about as morally bankrupt as they come. Just kill yourself tonight.

Sorry dude, but Duncan did not outplay Kobe in Game 1. Duncan had a very nice stat-line, but anybody who watched that game (and I know you did) could see that Kobe was clearly the most dominant player on the court, at least in the 2nd half, when it mattered.

There's really no debate here. Duncan is the most accomplished player in the modern NBA (other than maybe Shaq, I guess), but Kobe is the best baller alive. And I'm not bagging on Duncan's performance, because he's been just fine. What I'm saying is that the Lakers are the team with the guy who can absolutely take over a game.

This team needs to do what the Lakers did ... rebuild their bench and hopefully get lucky with a lopsided trade or a stud in the draft.

Shoot ... their backup PG (Farmar) is better than our starter (Parker).

Other than Duncan, there's no one I'd take on the Spurs over anyone on the Lakers, at the same position.
Not too bright are you? The spurs have been kicking ass for a decade and have played far more basketball than any other team (especially the last 5 or 6 years). It may be catching up to them, but Parker is way better than any point guard the Lakers have.

The top three players for the Spurs (especially Gino and Parker to a lesser extent) look worn out.

It's no wonder with the way this schedule was set up in the first place. It was designed to give LA an edge and it has.

Tim is doing what he can, this is not about him in any way as i see it. For god's sake he went for 30 and 18 in game 1 and we pissed it away in the 2nd half.

    Moron.

Jazz were worse this year, they lost Fisher and we knocked them out in 5 a year ago. You needed damn near 7 to get bye them and did not play that well at all. We were up 20 on you clowns in game 1. Manu has nothing because he is hurt period. If Kobe was hurt and we were up 2-0 you would be saying the same thing. Manu is huge to us in the playoffs we can't beat a top notch team without him.

You're an idiot. Feel free to mix in a spell check.

You're comparing your third best player to the league MVP??? If Manu was healthy, maybe you guys could stay within 2 touchdowns.

It is a close debate in game 1 at the very least, Tim was great most of the game, Kobe was great in the 2nd half, either way Spurs did not lose game 1 because Tim did not bring it.

Yeah. Although Duncan is great, he's not Kobe. When Duncan scores 20, it's a good game for him. When Kobe scores 20, we wonder why he didn't go for 30 or 40.

I'll go out on a limb and say Duncan is the 2d best player between the 2 teams. The next best are Gasol, Odom, Fisher, and then we might see a couple of Spurs. Parker & Ginobili might be 6th and 7th.

And the Lakers bench is fantastic. Half of ours shouldn't even be in the NBA anymore.

Like I said, I'm not blaming him. He has been just fine (and a lot better than "just fine" in game 1).

Parker & Manu are better than they are playing but today, they are indeed behind Gasol, Odom, Fish and Vujacic.

Right and do you honestly believe that your D is why Manu looks like a C level player in this series?? He has owned Defensive teams far better than what you are bringing.

Manu's problem is 60% his own and the the remaining 40% is the Lakers and specifically Vujacic crotching up to him on defense.

Oh you're right. The Silver & Black have played good consistent basketball for a decade. At times, they've even been very good and won 4 les.

I don't know if it's injuries or fatigue, but right now, the Laker guards are WAY better than the Spurs guards. Their bigs are better than ours, and their bench is unbelievable. It's simple really. Their guys make shots, and ours don't.

And Kobe will NOT choke away a 2-0 lead. He'll do it all himself if he has to.

If everybody plays to their potential, the list goes like this (IMO):

    1) Kobe
    2) Duncan
    3) Manu
    4) Gasol
    5) TP
    6) Lakers bench
    7) Bowen

    8) Spurs bench

What an horrible showing on both end of the court.
Almost all Spurs were horrible in this game.
Since the 6 min mark of first game third quarter, Spurs have been outscored by 54 !

I won't rule Spurs out because they are true warriors.
However, all odds are against them right now and it looks like the end of the road.

Well Duncan can change the game when we are making shots off the double teams. We are not doing that at all and Manu can't get anything going. Of course Tim can be taken out of a game offensively with hard aggressive double teams but if the Spurs made them pay more for that tactic, his impact would be greater.
