Hey, at this point, I would take a 1 point win.![]()
Like I said...even if they win it all this season, they're done for at least a year after this, after a summer of international ball etc. They gonna be scraping Manu and Parker off the court with a putty knife after this summer, so maybe now, or definitely next season, the tank is gonna run dry...and that's what their problem is right now. That's what they are struggling with in this series right now. Empty tank...
Hey, at this point, I would take a 1 point win.![]()
Too true whottt...and it's really depressing to watch as a fan. Memories of the past don't really help much either.

The turnovers are killing us.
We can take the Lakers as long as we play smarter than they do.
Yeah, I agree this loss wasn't something to get mad over. The Spurs just didn't have anything. Whether it's a combination of fatigue or injury or age or whatever else, the needed juice wasn't there. Even when it was close in the first half, I was 100% sure the Spurs were going lose.
As a Spurs fan, I don't see how you can be pissed at the team for not having juice. If it were tactical or effort level or something along those lines, it's fair to be pissed off. But being angry at this team right now is like kicking a dying dog.
The good news is that the Spurs may find the juice at home. I'm far from giving up on this team. One home win and this series is a series again.
The only thing I can truly be angry at right now is how they blew Game 1. But oh well. That's in the past. All Game 1 shows is the Spurs can win in LA. Take care of Game 3 and let's see what happens from there.
Oh and I'm not ready to start thanking the Spurs for their championship era. It's time to be greedy -- not time to reminisce about how good it's been. My reminiscing time starts once David Robinson is speaking during Tim Duncan jersey retirement night.
No they didn't....but that really doesn't make a bit of difference to me. 4 NBA championsips, only 3 teams in history have more. Undefeated in the Finals with 4 NBA championships, only one team has more. That's pretty damn good for San Antonio and an EX ABA team. I want the repeat, but at the same time if team doesn't have it left in the tank then they don't have it left in the tank. No sense beating a dead horse. I refuse to get pissed off and bash the Spurs for this. For what? Running out of gas from winning?
Let me be clear on this in case I wasn't. I think the Lakers are the weakest matchup we've had so far, and easiest to beat. I don't think they'd be beating the Spurs if the Spurs were playing anything remotely resembling their normal game. That is what is making me think they are out of gas.
But there was just a brutal 7 game series against the Hornets...I see Manu limping ass. Half the guys looking like they have one foot in the grave. It's not a matter of being soft and not wanting it...just fatigue.
The Hornets? They were kicking our ass and clearly outplaying us at a high level...that's not what LA is doing...the Spurs looking they just got done running a triathalon and are now in a 100 yard dash with the Lakers.
I also don't think LA is winning a le this year no matter what happens in this series. I'm not impressed with them.
I disagree, they're the best right now but I don't think they'll dominate for the next few years. I fully expect the Spurs to make some major improvements in the off-season and give them a run for their money next year. I will be sorely dissapointed if they don't. I also expect a few other teams to make some moves, ie. Utah, Phoenix, N.O.... Actually all the teams should be gearing up to beat the Lakers now that they have the bullseye on their back.

As Dave Letterman used to say, "You have crystallized my thoughts eloquently."As a Spurs fan, I don't see how you can be pissed at the team for not having juice. If it were tactical or effort level or something along those lines, it's fair to be pissed off. But being angry at this team right now is like kicking a dying dog.
Ok i get that many Spur fans THINK that the Hornets are better than us but really that is silly they beat you with PAul & West and spotty play from peja and Chandler we are sooooooo MUCH deeper than NO and the Suns please they cant beat a veteran team kobe almost beat them by himself 3 years ago pay us our respect NO didnt beat you by 30 or erase a 20 pt lead ...plus they dont have Kobe ...
if kobe is that great, why was he ing around sucking against phoenix in the clutch the last few years?
To blame a loss this late in the season on an empty tank ain't going
to cut it.
If you're team is fatigued at this point, they don't deserve to be champions.
Plus, you guys had a 20 point lead in game one. The Spurs couldn't have done that if they were fatigued.
I'm sure you feel the need to explain these loses, but please don't use fatigue as an explanation. It just makes people want to roll their eyes.
What happened today then ? Please don't use that "f" word. The Hornets? They were kicking our ass and clearly outplaying us at a high level...that's not what LA is doing.
That's fine. See you in game 3. Hopefully you'll be impressed by theI'm not impressed with them.
Lakers in that game.
Game seven, two second half shots.if kobe is that great, why was he ing around sucking against phoenix in the clutch the last few years?
That's positively Fabricio Oberto-like!
Look up and see who his pg and pf were. Take Manu and TP away from Duncan, what do you think will happen ?
Btw, that phoenix game was over anyway. What did you expect Kobe to do ? He's not God.
In the sport of boxing, fighters who don't have the stamina for a 12-round fight train for a quick knockout.Plus, you guys had a 20 point lead in game one. The Spurs couldn't have done that if they were fatigued.
The Spurs tried the same strategy in Game One. The punch just wasn't big enough.
I agree with you. The Hornets fell apart when the pressure mounted. They are not as deep benchwise as the lakers. Also the hornets were not mentally tough and folded when the pressure was on, so they are not as tough as the Lakers.
What a dumb ass!
Duncan and Ginobili didn't play "summer" ball...
This is why I'm glad I really enjoyed last year's run and went to a few playoff/finals games. It's so hard to expect this group as is to get it done again. Too many guys out of gas or with nagging injuries to expect them to win. That said, if they do manage to win then this has to go down as one of the toughest and most gritty teams ever. To run this gauntlet under these cir stances would almost be superhuman.
I agree. This is the last chance for the Spurs to win it all. If they don't then I'm glad to have been a part of one of the greatest dynasties in all of sports.
ginobili is playing in the olympics, dumbass.
He's talking about being out of gas because of "summer" ball, Idiot!
They are not a dynasty, that's for sure, repeat first then talk
The Spurs will be wasting a huge opportunity if they think that way. The "Big Three" can win up to four more les if supported by some inspirational front office moves to bolster the bench. The hard part is done. It's the easier part that the Spurs need to get done this summer.
Repeating is the next logical goal for the Spurs.
Tell you what if this squad can still manage to come back and win four in a row as a few teams have this decade they will be the toughest Spurs team ever. If not then yeah, they have four rings. But right now it's about a repeat. Be selfish.
