Awright, awright, everybody. Vent all you want. Cry! Wail! . Get it out of your system. You've done it for years. I LMFA off every time I peek in here. But after catching your breath, take stock:

Let's see. Not sure how many teams are in the NBA, but I do believe there are only four still playing. Sheesh, these Spurs of ours are always hanging around until somewhere near the end. It's simply great to come in on a Friday after a long week and be entertained by my favorite team on TV. Win or lose, there is more character on this team than on any other in the NBA. Don't believe this shzt about how boring the Spurs are. I walked into a package store in DC on Thursday, wearing my Spurs cap, and at least three people, complete strangers, said in so many words that the Sours were their favorite team, win or lose. Their Wizards emptied their lockers several weeks ago.

My thoughts: We've got 'em where we want 'em. There is nothing spectacular about these Lakers. It's the same team Kobe ed about last fall, save Pau Gasol.

After the first loss to the Lakers I thought we'd do it in 6 games. Now it may take 7.

You could have saved yourself a lot of typing by simply typing in these 2 words: Sour Grapes.

I like how you hold yourself to a higher standard because you and your team had to "endure" more than a Laker fan. Hahaha, did your marriage suffer because of this? Man, you guys are getting just a little carried away.

And just for the record, I wouldn't give a if I was fresh out of the ing womb. If you come on here and pop off like an asshat, you're gonna hear about it regardless how many days or posts I have. That's about the most pathetic cop out you could have come up with. "Wah, wah!! Don't throw it in our faces if you only have 2 days on here, wah!"
You're the one coming in here to popping off on the Spurs site - not the other way around. You're just one of the many Laker bandwagoners that have blown in here the last few days. I have been responding to your inane posts.

The Lakers have been acquiring players and draft choices from other teams for 60 to 70 cents on the dollar (or worse) forever. I explained that to you in detail - some of which you probably didn't even know yourself. Sure, there might be a little bit of sour grapes thrown in on my part, but how hard is it for you to understand the concept of "Lakers getting something for nothing"? Its a fact.

Bottom line, its easy to be Laker "fan". I get a little carried away when scores of "fans" like you come in here spew a bunch of garbage.

Okay, now you can respond with a bunch of false bravado and profanity. That's about all you've got.

    BTW (Laker "Fans")
The Lakers acquired Wilt Chamberlain for this awesome trio:
    Darrall Imhoff
    Jerry Chambers
    Archie Clark

Once again, something for nothing. Wilt was the reigning MVP at the time (in 1968). Just another reason to dislike the Purple and Gold.

Wilt was clearly in the twilight of his career then. And besides, obtaining Wilt did what for us since it was such a gift? One le in 72 with Wilt having a diminished role so don't go off like it was some gimmie trade that brought windfalls to LA. What a dufus.

    Moron.

Jazz were worse this year, they lost Fisher and we knocked them out in 5 a year ago. You needed damn near 7 to get bye them and did not play that well at all. We were up 20 on you clowns in game 1. Manu has nothing because he is hurt period. If Kobe was hurt and we were up 2-0 you would be saying the same thing. Manu is huge to us in the playoffs we can't beat a top notch team without him.

Kobe is hurt idiot..His finger is messed up

The reason we get all those great trades is because great players want to live and play in LA...period! Who the want to live in San Antonio.
    Non-attention s.

, it took David Robison two years to report to that hole. He could have bought out his military contract if he wanted to be in San Antonio so bad.
Really? He could have bought out his military commitment? Brilliance.

Apparently, following a team for 27 years is considered bandwagonning. Who knew? The bottom line is this: who would wanna live in San Antonio over L.A. if you really break it down? Sure, L.A. has it rough spots, but not where these players go live once they get here. Malibu, Westwood, Bel-Air? Trust me, not exactly South Central or Compton. You got the beach right here, comfortable weather...and San Antonio? Well besides all the tumbleweeds, dirt, and 110 degree weather, what else is there? I'll take a quake over a tornado any day of the week.

See, that's what you do in San Antonio, you complain when you're outmanned. When the Gasol trade went down, who was the only coach harping about "there should be a trade committee to oversee trades like these"? Only Popovich. When a spur doesn't get a call, what does he do? He falls like he got shot with a shotgun.

Here's a little hint if you wanna get back into this series: You're not gonna win playing 4 on 5 defense every single time down the floor. Parker drives, misses, lands in the press row, and Lakers are off and running. If not Parker, it's Duncan, Finley or Manu. Here's a novel concept. How about stay on your feet? Trust me, it's easier to play D on your feet as opposed to on your back.

I have no doubt in my mind that we're winning this series. Those of us that have been watching this current Spurs team long enough are smart enough to know when a loss is because of the other team doing well or the Spurs beating themselves. Unfortunately most of the Lakers and Spurs fans here declaring the series is over have only been Spurs fans for like a year.

I see a lot of people comparing this to the NOH series. My take:

1.) No more 2-3 days of rest. It's 1 day rest between every game. Huge disadvantage to the Spurs.
2.) Lakers are a pretty good road team. Unlike NOH, they can stick with their gameplan on the road and have managed to win closeout games against both DEN and UTAH (good home teams).
3.) Kobe Bryant - needs no explanation. The man can take over a game by himself and will his team to victory.
4.) Phil Jackson - is a lot better than Byron Scott. When Pop counters with his adjustments, so will Phil.
    5.) Laker's bench - is a lot better than the Hornet's bench.

Not saying it's impossible for the Spurs to comeback, I fully expect them to win Game 3 actually. But, to dismiss the Lakers as if they are somehow in any way, shape, or form equal to the Hornets is foolish.

    1) Something could happen to the lakers' charter plane.
    2) A tornado will come through the AT&T center.

You are not really that stupid are you? Robinson lives here and is a part owner of the team. He HAD to serve 2 years in the Navy. Typical child that has been posting here.

LA has nice weather I'll grant you (I've worked out there several times over the years), but I would rather live in San Antonio. Everything else about LA in not pleasant. Terrible traffic, higher crime, inflated cost of housing, pollution, too many people in a small area, the California fruit loops (ie tree huggers, PETA types, lots of liberal poli ians and people) - no thanks. The superficial nature of so many people out there does not appeal to me personally.

You probably have not been down here with your generalization of the SA area/Hill Country. Tumbleweeds? Please. 110 degree weather? Hot in the summer but not that hot. Dirt and tornadoes? Most places have dirt and tornadoes are generally north of SA. I grew up in the SA area and enjoyed it a lot. It's not a huge metropolitan area but the SA/Austin area has a lot to offer.

So. You have followed the Lakers for 27 years, huh? That would put you back to 1980 or 1981. At the beginning of the Magic era. I may be wrong, but it sounds like you live on the West Coast, so I'll cut you a little slack there if you live in LA and are a Laker fan. I'll just say this, its a lot easier to be a fan of a team when there are very few bumps in the road (1992-1995 and the last couple of years before this one)and win 9 les in that time. There are way too many Laker fans (many of whom has posted here in the last few days) who aren't from California who are taking the path of least resistance and throwing on the Kobe jerseys because he is on Sportscenter all the time. There are tons of short term "fans" who liked Shaq and Kobe because they won a bunch a few years ago. The Lakers have a huge fan base, but there are way too many who will jump ship when things don't go well somewhere down the road.

I have followed the Spurs for 30 years so I have seen the Lakers many times in the playoffs - most of the time they have had the better players (especially in the early 80s), but the Spurs have at least had better teams several times and have been able to beat LA (once in the early 90s and twice in the Duncan era). A general disdain of all things Laker is part of this deal here.

The Spurs have played horribly in this series so far - that is a fact. They have not brought an A game or B game so far. Given Ginobili's physical condition, I don't know if the guy who was 3rd Team all NBA will be seen in this series. The Lakers have played well so far, but don't think for a minute that the Spurs are playing at their maximum efficiency (especially Ginobili). That's why this has been really frustrating so far. They are better than what they've shown. At this point, the top three guys must execute well for the Spurs to be effective. Time is now short.

That being said, SA will show up on Sunday and they will play their guts out. Will it be good enough? I don't know. They must shoot better than 35-40% to get it done and that is the bottom line. LA cannot shoot 55% from the field and shoot twice as many free throws as they did Friday. The four on five stuff is because Parker was not getting foul calls on the way to the basket (and ended up in press row with lack of a foul call) - then got tenative. 10 free throws in a game is terrible and showed the two guards became jump shooters. Ginobili simply has not been able to drive the ball with his current lack of mobility. That will not cut it.

Thanks for the obscenity free post. Keep it up. Your cohorts seem to be incapable of that, but they probably are still in school, right?

I thought the Spurs showed up Wedenesday. I guess you're on to just shrug that off and say, it was a choke job too, huh? I guess you're one to say that the Lakers didn't turn it up, and too it away from them? Oh, last night, the Spurs were probably just flat, huh? One of those games?

Wake up!!!! Your team is old. It over. Rebuild, do whatever it is that has to be done but this Spurs team will be lucky to get back to the WCF next year. 4 rings in 9 years is definitely a great run... but things do come to an end. And the Lakers will make sure that is so. I think the Lakers will win at least 1 in San Antonio, and it better not be tomorrow because if the Spurs lose tomorrow, the brooms will be out!!!!

Do you know any of these other guys in the trade. No.

If your think Wilts play in the waning years of his career as a Laker was anywhere near his performances in Philly then you are delusional. Again, we won 1 le (did you read that in my post moron) with Wilt. And he retired the following year. So i dont think is so absurd for me to post that he was not the player he used to be 1 freaking year before he retired. That happened to be the year of 32 wins. You act as though trading the guys we did for him brought us this slew of championships. I was merely pointing out, it DID NOT! And what does the MVP prove anyway?

And if you want to go a step further, Wilt forced the trade cause he wanted to be in LA and reap the rewards of being in a big market. The only thing absurd around here is your posts. Maybe you should take those rose tinted glasses off you myopic homer.

I am curious as to how you know where the posters on here live? How you know how long they have followed or been a fan of a team? You make statements that have no basis in fact! Do you actually believe your own made up BS? Please inform me how you know these things.

I can certainly understand your disdain for the Lakers. In 10 playoff matchups the Lakers are 7-3. I have nothing but respect for the spurs. Maybe if you werent such a whining little homer you would have some respect for the team that has beat your very good teams at a 2-1 clip in playoff series? Who knows?

Parker falling all over the place cause hes out of control does not mean he was fouled. Certainly, officiating in the NBA is not stellar. However, if you are going to pull out the officiating as a reason you lost either of these two games, see above "whining" comment, cause that's all it is.

Manu is obviously not himself. Get over it. Excuses are for losers plain and simple. Both teams have injuries. It's part of the game. Manu wont blame it. Maybe you should take a page from your own player and man up a little instead of whining ....yet again.

What happened was that the Spurs gave it their best shot in Game 1, and they still couldn't do it. Game 2, they were just lost. If the Spurs don't show up tomorrow, kiss it goodbye. The Spurs are yesterday's child. Great run but all good things do come to an end.
