ps. Trevor Ariza most probable suit up 2night so Sasha and Ariza on Munu damn hahahaha feels good 2 be a Laker Fan
I say show some respect towards the team that your rooting against. Obviously, without the opposition we all wouldn't have an opportunity to be fanatics.
not All Laker fans or Spur fans are jerks there are classy ones on both sides and i have seen them here in San antonio where i live and on this site ...
But i started hating the Spurs because of teh way the Spur fans react to me wearing my teams colors 7 jerseys and one idiot near the medical center tried to fight a friend of mine who is also a Laker fan ack in '04 so it goes both ways ...
I been to LA with my Spurs gear on and to Smurf stadium with my SF Giants gear on. They talk alot of sh*t but its woofing.
I am suprised no one has broke my windshields, i got spurs stickers all over, and i live in long beach.
i must got that 'cred homie, hahaha
When I was in L.A. for games 3 and 4 in the Faker series back in '03, after the game me and my friend were walking just outside the staple backto the car after a loss.
We were both wearing Robinson jerseys and mine was signed.
A coloured teen who was walking up behind us was giving us smack and that's all OK. I chose to represent the silver and black in L.A. so when we lose, I expect smack hard.......BUT!
When he started shouting to "Retire that jersey right now", I turned around and told him to have some respect for that jersey. He asked me what I was gonna do about it and my friend pulled my arm and we continued walking.
Than he turned personal and calling me all kinds of and I shouted for him to keep his face shut and he better not wanting me to turn around again.
Of course this fired up the lil' and he started approaching me and my friend closer. Just as I wanted to turn around and face him, the 2 only other Spurs fans wearing silver and black we had seen all day came running to us and the lil' ran away. Turns out these 2 Spurs fans had seen the upcoming mayhem and recognized me from the home games.
Looking back at it, I am very glad they came running to us as I would have put me and my friend in danger, not knowing what kind of people I was dealing with over there in that part of L.A.
What could I care? I was one of the biggest D-Rob fans around and taking smack for the 2 losses, but when the comments were directed personaly to my idol, that's a no-no.
But again, it was just one individual who looked like he wouldn't be able to afford game tickets and was just hanging around the Staple to talk smack.
The Faker fans surounding us in the Staple at our seats, were booing us at first, bit after the San Antonio Express photographer took some pics of me and my friend in our seats, they all were thinking that I was some sort of celebrity of some sorts and they were at ease and respectful. Also because of my Spurs tattoo that was considered hard-core even over there. We started talking about the game and they told me they all had season tickets from way back in the 80's and all was good and respect was granted.
So all in all it was a great experience over there.
Being at the Staple and being the only one going crazy and pumped up at the Spurs introductions was awesome. Looking back at it I don't know how I did it, but it was pure adrenaline.
Now back home over here in Holland, I have an immidate negative feeling about kids wearing Faker gear. It turns out though, that when you get to know them a little bit that negative feeling is waranted.
I respect the old-school Laker fans from the show-time era.
These days the most of them are just Faker fans.
is this a whining thread?
just asking![]()
Well, here's something all you rowdy fans can do if you want to fight so bad. Get your ass to the Army recruiting station, and get to the Middle East as quick as possible.
Put on your Spurs and Lakers jerseys. Actually those guys don't give a about anything other than you're American.
I've found that MOST of the people that give you in LA aren't really Laker fans, they're displaced LA Raider fans who finally realized the Raiders ain't coming back and that their team still sucks( GO CHARGERS!).
LL is right, when I go to Staples, and should me team lose, I let them say what they say and then I ask them, hey do you know how your team got the draft rights to Magic Johnson?
They don't know...so I say...bandwagon huh...and then I tell them the story.
Then, I say they've been informed and continue on my path. Should they attempt to physically impede my path, then...I walk zig-zag ala Ginobili style, then should they attempt again, I just talk loud and ask....WHY YOU TRYING TO START WITH ME BANDWAGON? At which point, most REAL Laker fans would get the offending wise-ass to back off. Truth-be-told though, it's best to be in at least a pack of 2. It's also wise practice to know where the red-coats are at Staples. Again, I don't want to paint a wide-brush on Laker fans, as this board can truly attest, there are Laker fans that appreciate good basketball and then there are assholes that just like to talk .
Y'all be cool...it's just basketball. No one here is going to receive a portion of that playoff check now are they?
My cousin and I went to SBC Center for a game last year proudly wearing our Lakers gear. The hicks of San Antonio were giving us dirty looks and talking but they knew better than to come over and say anything too crazy. I will beat somebody down in a heartbeat if you come doing any craziness. They would have been holding their busted jaw watching that game. I don't play. So there are rowdy fans everywhere, me included. In terms of classless fans, I would put San Antonio at #5.
1. Utah
2. Philadelphia
3. Detroit
4. Boston/Indiana (tie)
5. San Antonio
Wow, you're a real internets gangster.
No, I am no gangster. I just won't put up with anybody's bull .
I've been to a lot of games over the last 4 years and have never seen LA like this before. I'm sure it was during the 3peat years, but not since then. Fans in the lower level are wearing Lakers gear and are actually making noise, they're even getting to the game on time and staying until the end! It's a different place right now... but I guess that's what winning will do for you.
