Please, lay off Ginobili, spurs fans. I understand the guy is not performing to his potential however he has had injuries that have been limiting his abilities. You think he does not want to drive to the basket? Of course he wants, but if he is physically unable, what the is he supposed to do? Kill himself trying to…
Now as stated by Manu himself, injuries are not an excuse however if you can’t move, change direction, jump, due to injuries …What is a player supposed to do?

He is having a bad series; it is not like he has not had one before… Sacramento (in 2006), phoenix (this year), Denver (last year), but then we had some what reliable bench that helped the spurs win (which is our main problem this series). I remember previous years it was enough for two of the big three to play well to win. Also, I remember the fans saying it would be awesome if we had the big three have great nights at the same time. But now if the big three don’t score at least 70 and up we are not going to win.

But, I still believe the losses we encountered in L.A. were due to a TEAM effort. If the Spurs improve small pieces of the whole picture, I think we will be fine for Game 3.
Defense: If we as a team shut the lane, stay in front of Kobe, and guard the three point line, box out nicely, try to get some offensive board, tip some out (Oberto), we will be fine.
Offense: As usual it starts inside out through Timmy. Our guards need to penetrate and finish or dish out to an open teammate. Guards should not take the whole clock though. There were a couple plays where our backcourt held the ball for 19 seconds and passed it to Duncan. By passing the ball, we show our trust in each other, pass the ball with a confidence and make the right pass.

Emotion: I need to see determination, emotion, pumping fists, which all amounts to confidence that can carry us and help the players to execute better offense as well as defense.

I say spurs show the world that they are One Team who is trying to achieve ONE GOAL.
And on Sunday, they need to be trying to win ONE game.
ONE Team. ONE Goal. ONE Game. ONE Result.
    That’s all.

What is he supposed to do?

If his play really is being affected by injuries, take himself out of the game. If he knows he can't help the team, he can't be out there not helping or worse hurting the team.

I'm a huge fan of Ginobili, but at some point, you have to put your pride to the side and understand you're hurting the team more than you're helping it when you're on the court. The problem is that the Spurs don't really have anyone else that can bring what Manu brings to replace him.

Well, then spurs' players should show emotion and pick up a guy when he is down. That's what teammates do. I think that will energize everyone and they will win w/o Manu.

I guess Pop should have benched him for game 2...It was not brainer we were not going to win after halftime.

    Let's see :
When Spurs win and Manu plays great, the CoM is pimping Manu like crazy.
When Spurs lost and Manu plays poorly, the CoM is saying that it's a team lose.

CoM = bunch of lame ass fans who are fans of a player and not of a team.

FACT : The main reason why Spurs have lost game 1 is Manu poor play. Deal with that. Saying that doesn't mean that you don't like Manu or that he is bad player and Spurs should trade him. First, every player can have a bad game. Second, we all know that Manu isn't near 100% physically.

    Are you repudiating your statement?

Game 1: up 20 pts in the third with manu playing bad. The lost occured b/c all of the spurs players could not make a basket.

right, because manu is the only player on the spurs that has fans, its not like parker or duncan have anyone rooting just for them doing the exact same thing.

just about everyone on this forum had no problem declaring that the hornets series was manu's to win/lose because the hornets had no one to guard him.

why isnt anyone doing the same for last years finals mvp in this series? fisher and gasol are locking him down? what about that two time mvp guy? who's guarding him? odom? turiaf? why isnt anyone declaring him the pivotal matchup? i guess deep down inside timvp, kori et all are CoM believers and not spurs fans, they think its either manu wins it or spurs are nothing.

spurs are getting outrebounded, outshot, outblocked, less trips to the line, it IS a team loss. manu gets undue credit for some wins, but he also gets undue credit for some losses. this board and hundreds of others are full of threads declaring manu an overrated turnover machine that hurts more than he helps.

so which is it spurs fans? is manu solely responsible for this team's fate? MVP indeed.

How seriously can you be such a jackass?
Did you even watched game 1?
If you did, you do not belong here at spurstalk, simple as that.
It's not that time to make excuses for our players poor performances.
Manu sucked for once, deal with it dumbass.

He did not play well, but neither did anyone on the spurs so you deal with it too!

No, they haven't or if they have some fans like that, it's way fewer than for Manu. You should read Spurstalk better.

So Duncan was bad in Game 1 ?
So Vujacic, Radmanovic... are great defenders ?

You don't put a loss/win on a player. You credit/discredit parts of each piece that comprises the whole puzzle.

where did i say manu played well?

the lakers have better defenders at SG than they do at PG or PF, you'd be silly to dispute that.

what i'm saying is why is it so easy for spurs fans to demand manu play well for the spurs to beat the hornets, but not demand the same from parker or duncan for the spurs to beat the lakers? or are you going to tell me that tony's 15.5 points on 40% shooting so far this series are better than manu's 21 on 43% in the hornets series??

this post sounds like i'm hating on tony, when i've said at least a couple of times he's been the spurs best player this postseason. i'm just trying to show that it IS a team game and its ridiculous how easily some people just throw everything on ginobili, then make fun of the CoM idiots that do that. arent you doing the same thing?!

if it comes down to whether manu has more fans, yes, he does. there are more of them and they say more stupid things. if that makes you feel better as a spurs fan, congratulations, you must be having a great time. me, i'd like to know where the rest of this team is. you know, the two time mvp, the finals mvp, the lock down defender, the best collection of 3pt bombers, the experienced roleplay and tactical genius. but i guess that is all worthless without manu playing up to his reputation.

and you have the gall to call yourselves better fans, its really amazing. its a good thing the spurs arent like their fans, and actually get behind each other when they are having rough times instead of calling each other out.
