If you have been a Spurs fan since the entire bandwagon could fit into an actual wagon, sign in here.
Always in. The uglier it gets the stronger I believe.
Present since 1996. No doubt and never will. The next four games will be sweeter.
Go Spurs Go!
I can vouch for duncan228
I'm scared, but I am IN!
Been a Spurs fan since 1988, at the exact same time I was born, I came out with a Silver & Black heart. Believe.
Could somebody explain this whole "real" fan thing?
Do you genuinely believe that following a team long-term makes you somehow better than someone joining this year?
Seemingly every board has posters who throw out the dreaded accusation of being a "bandwagoner."
Pfffft.
Weren't we all beginners at one time? How dare you develop some sort of superiority complex.
Let me be the first to invite you onto the Lakers bandwagon! I don't care if you've been a Lakers fan for 5 minutes while I've been my entire existence!
Join the party! Join the fun!

you are right..
Well maybe the word "real" fan is misleading. I'd say "true" fan would be appropriate. There is indeed no difference between a long-term fan and a fan joining this year. But, a "real/true" fan roots for his team even when they suck big time. I can understand why so many people hate those on/off the bandwagon fans. They join when a team is successful and hop off the wagon when they begin to suck. The problem is, most of those fans usually brag about how good their team is and how bad others are. A "true" fan of a team would talk a little smack but would act with common sense because he knows the ups and downs a team can have. Therefore, kudos to the real Lakers fans here who are actually worth having a conversation with... but unfortunately there's only a handful of them here.
Some definitions for you...
Bandwagoner: someone who follows a team only when they are winning/successful.
True/real fan: someone who follows the team no matter their current level of success.
So, really, the only way to judge status is longevity. Have you stuck with the team through the good and the ill? That is the test, and all of us who really love our team have to pass the test of time.
I've been a Spurs fan since 1990, done two pilgrimages to the Holy Land, and will bleed Silver and Black until I die. I am a true Spurs fan, as are many of the regulars here.
If Manu is even 70% healthy for games 3 and 4, we will tie this thing up.
BRING IT ON.

Here were the servants of your adversary,
And yours, close fighting ere I did approach:
I drew to part them: in the instant came
The fiery Tybalt, with his sword prepared,
Which, as he breathed defiance to my ears,
He swung about his head and cut the winds,
Who nothing hurt withal hiss'd him in scorn:
While we were interchanging thrusts and blows,
Came more and more and fought on part and part,
Till the prince came, who parted either part.
Perhaps OP should have gone with something more along the lines of sign in here if you were a fan when the Spurs had zero rings.
I'm in, as always. And Laker fans, take a remedial reading course. This thread invites Spurs fans to post. Please show some very basic consideration.
I'm in.
And I DO believe that Spurs will get this series.
No doubt.
man. my hands are getting tired of all this signing in
1974. First game was a Spurs-Pacers ABA playoff game.A four year old could learn some interesting words back then.
eisfeld said it right. Its not how long you have been a fan its that you don't desert your team in bad times. Those of us who lived through the years between Gervin and Robinson understand this all too well.
