Next game will be a heartbreaker for the Spurs. Turn out the lights.

We are still down 1-2, and even if we win game 4 (which is a must win for the Spurs) we still need to take a game in LA.

Having said that, great win tonight. I don't expect lamar to go 2-11 again, nor do I see Gasol shooting 7-18, but hopefully the Spurs' momentum can carry into game 4.
lamor and fisher shot bad in game 1
    they may lay another egg

Laker fans keep crowing about coming back from a 20-point deficit in game 1 - but really, how impressive was it when you were playing a Spurs team that had just won a grueling 7-game series and also hadn't gotten any sleep for two nights in a row.

The Spurs simply ran out of gas halfway thru the 3rd quarter - plain and simple!

If fatigue was that much of a problem for SAS not being able to close out a 20pt lead they are in deep .

1 day rest between every game. It doesn't get any easier from here on out.

The Spurs must bring their A game. On the plus, they thrive in desperation, but there is little room for error, especially with Phil Jackson leading the opposition. He is probably the only active NBA coach with more NBA Championship les than Greg Popovic.

Are you saying the LAL's didn't get any sleep Saturday night? Our team has an excuse....all 12 players are over 120 years old and were heroes in WW I. Let's see both teams energized come Tuesday night and make this a great series between the two teams who have dominated the Larry O'Brien Trophy since 1999.

I think the Lakers saw a Spurs team they just weren't ready for tonight. Phil warned them about this, but it's something you really can't plan for until your players have been in that situation. I think they'll be better prepared to step up their energy to match the Spurs come Tuesday.

Interested to see what Phil's adjustments are. My intuition tells me we'll see a gameplan similar to Game 1. Stay at home on the shooters, let Duncan go bananas on Gasol. Bring the doubles hard in the 4th. Pray that Manu has an off night again, and the Lakers should win. The Spurs need each of their big 3 contributing 20+ points for them to keep up with LA.

The Spurs need their big 3 dropping 20 each to win by 20.

And if you stay at home on the shooters then TP will drive at will.

I have to agree with the thread le, there are a bunch of Spurs fans in here talking like the Lakers/Hornets fans did after 2 games. It's just home court, and our job is only half done.

Yes please, I just don't like the iness and overconfidence of some Spurs fans. You would've thought they had already learned from the last series and yet some are just too complacent and sure that the Spurs got this in the bag when in fact we are still down 1-2. Just one win from the Lakers will put us into a seemingly unsurmountable hole.

After the game Kobe said as much. He felt that the Lakers learned from this game and did some growing up from it. Besides Fisher and Kobe this team doesn't have a lot of playoff experience. As the Hornets found out last series you have to get into these types of situations in order to understand what to do.

Will see what adjustments both coaches make for game 4 and if the young Lakers learned anything.
