What about the Top 10 GREATEST memories in Spurs history???
I apologize if this has already been posted. I saw it while reading the USA Today at work last night and thought I'd share it here. Thank god I found the link so I don't have to type it all out.
Is this a pretty fair top 10? I admit that my knowledge of Spurs basketball is a little weak but I found the top 10 pretty interesting.JON SARACENO'S TOP 10 WORST MOMENTS IN SPURS HISTORY
10. Lakers sweep of 2001 West finals.
9. Hiring Jerry Tarkanian in 1992. He lasted 20 games.
8. Sean Elliott's kidney transplant coming off Spurs' first NBA le in '99.
7. Rod Strickland's goofball behind-the-back pass in Game 7 semifinal loss to Portland in '90.
6. Trading away the legendary "Iceman," George Gervin, in '85.
5. Dealing for Dennis Rodman and all of his baggage in '93.
4. Squandering a 20-point second-half lead Wednesday night and losing to Lakers in Game 1 of Western Conference finals.
3. Karl Malone's stray elbow that rendered David Robinson unconscious with concussion in '98.
2. Losing draft coin flip with Utah in '85. The Jazz drafting Karl Malone. The Spurs getting... Alfredrick Hughes!
1. 0.4 of a second. The time remaining when Derek Fisher's buzzer-beating fadeaway propelled Lakers to a pivotal Game 5 semifinal playoff victory in 2004 in San Antonio. The Spurs lost the next game and the series.

What about the Top 10 GREATEST memories in Spurs history???
I see Manu's 2006 brain fart was so painful that people have completely erased it from memory![]()
How the was #8 a bad memory? I'd rather have Sean alive than dead ...
What is your intention of posting this???
#4 still depends on the outcome of the series. If the Spurs lose this series then it will stay but if we beat the Lakers then this will be replaced with either Manu's foul on Dirk in 06 or Tmac's 13 in 35.
You mean...do I have an ulterior motive? None at all. Like I said, I was reading the paper last night and saw the list. Since this is the only Spurs site I visit I figured it would be a good read.
Where's Manu's foul? This list sucks.
yea i think game 7 of 2006 semis should be there. no doubt.
Horrible list....Barkley's shot? Hakeem's dominance? Manu's foul? #4 was bad but it doesn't come close to any of those.
It's a curious premise for a list and an even more curious collection of moments.
As a Spurs fan for almost 30 years, #4 isn't on my list and neither is #8.
And I'm not sure that dealing for Rodman was actually a bad thing in itself -- the Spurs were extremely successful in Rodman's 2nd year; the worse memory would be Rodman acting like a complete jackass during the spring of 1995 and likely costing the Spurs a chance at a le.
ref's officiating in 2006 playoffs.
This is no Spurs fan, he doesn't know about how Spurs fans feel.
This is another idiot sport's writer...just 1 more amongst a plethera of them.
No joke. Choking away a 3-1 lead in the conference finals against the Washington Bull s.
No kidding. 1995 was our year. It should have been our first le.
An national asshole trashing the Spurs, while fellating the Lakers.

Specially the Duncan foul when Dirk clearly stepped on him. that year!
Tarkanian > Isiah thomas
As far as gutwrenching, I need to hurl moments, Tim going down on the floor writhing in pain holding his knee in 2000 ranks pretty high on my list.
We should have repeated that year
Our 2nd le.....
we were up 3-1 in the Conference Finals in 79 and lost the series.....we win one game and we are in the Finals
I would put #3 at #1......only because that was the closest we came to making the Finals without making it.
