    doh didnt see this sticky

i think the keys to victories are:

    Spurs victory
the big three needs to play effective and another role guy like barry, finley, or udoka needs to have a solid game.

Duncan will get his numbers especially if phil stays single coverage with pau

parker will get his 18 and 7

they wild card is manu. if he playes like he did in game 3, its going to be tough for the lakers to win game 4. having said that, manu hit some ridiculous shots on fisher and sashas heads. i dont think he'll have that crazy of a game but will be effective tonite.

    Lakers victory
kobe will be kobe but the biggest wildcard is odom. he NEEDS to take oberto and horry to the hole and finish strong. there is no way they can check him if odom is aggressive. and he needs to make FT's.

fisher also needs to knock down his open shots. i think he has proven his playoff prowless and will come to play tonite.

the bench also needs to play well for the lakers to have a chance tonite. as with the cases so far in the playoffs. the younger benches play way better at home. they feel more comfortable and feed off the crowd. if the lakers get some good bench play along with odom and fisher playing like they did all year, i feel they can steal a game at the alamo. (or at&t now)

This game will determine whether or not we still have a chance in this series.

If we win it, we're still underdogs in the series, but the series is far from over.

If we lose it, our season will have come to an end.

It's not that it would be impossible to beat this Lakers team 3 times, but it would extremely unlikely.

This is a great Lakers team. No real weaknesses.

It won't be easy, but I expect that we will win it.

I think that it will be relatively close. That's dangerous since they have Kobe on their team, one of the best forth quarter players in the history of the nba.

One thing that kind of confuses me though is that I thought that he was a great 3 point shooter. By percentage, he is mediocre.

I hope to move back to the San Antonio area this Fall to start my ph.d. (Texas State in San Marcos).

It's not been as bad as I feared (I moved to Dallas / Ft Worth area this past fall) with the Mavericks fans because of the lack of success of their team.

Kobe is not a great 3 point shooter. he is a streaky 3 point shooter. kinda like Ginobili. it all depends on his conifdence with his shot. when hes on, hes on. when hes off, hes off.

let him take all the shots he wants. take Gasol and Odom out of the game and well be all right.
also the offense can have no stagnant moments. thats why we got the Mango tree.

We just need a good balanced attack from the big three to be in control. I don't see Manu having a big game like last time but he will definitely have a good game. And Tony is bound to find his way into the paint more.

But if not, by any means necessary is a good strategy.

The Lakers had a chance to put the Spurs in a 3-0 hole and they couldn't. This is what people don't realize about why a series is seven games. A 2-0 series lead is never safe and doesn't mean UNLESS you're the road team winning the first two on the road. Any team can win at home in the playoffs, it's as simple as that. You take care of your home games at the least, and you're in a Game 7 at home. NOW you have to be good enough to handle the pressures of a do or die game. The Hornets couldn't and if this series goes seven games the Lakers can forget about it.

Best teams win seven game series. That's why they expanded the first round to seven games instead of five, to avoid fluke teams going into the 2nd round.

The Lakers just went out and shot a couple of hoops those first two games. No big deal. We just beat them by 19. Now what?

If the Spurs has shot 50% in the first two games they would have probably won those too. It wasn't the Lakers D that kept our boys from scoring, they had wide open shots, They were just missing, and Manu was hurt.

Manu is obviously feeling a little better, the shoting drought is over, And Spurs defense looks stronger than ever.

I'd expect to see a replay of game 3 tonight. Difference- Kobe will take and miss a lot more shots tonight.

Spurs are like a freight train. They may be slow to start a series but once they gain momentum they are nearly impossible to stop. Once they have you figured our your cooked.

The Lakers are going to come out VERY aggressive tonight. A lot will be told early on when we see how the Spurs and the refs respond to the Lakers. If the Spurs are willing to take them, I think the Lakers (especially Odom) can be called for a lot of offensive fouls. Odom has already said he plans to go to the rim early and often and dunk a lot. If Fab can keep him from getting the ball too deep, Odom will foul on the way to the basket. Then it's a question of whether or not Joey will call an offensive foul on him. I don't have a clue about that.

A good strategy might be to sag off Kobe, let him get his jump shots in, and hopefully mesmerize his teammates into watching him, rather than getting into the game themselves.

The lakers are going to be in our passing lanes big time, so our ball control is going to be critical. This means no forcing the ball to Tim whether he is open or not. When we do that, we almost guarantee a turnover.

We know the triangle offense almost as well as the Laker players, so we know where they are going to want to go and when. We need to anticipate where they are going and get some steals and then fast breaks. They have been very good about getting back on defense, and Tony really needs to speed it up to get past Derek without incurring an offensive foul.

We can win this game. It will be a matter of whether or not our savvy will overcome their raw talent. In other words, a repeat of N.O. Are we hungry enough to fight effectively for this? I think so. We will never be closer to a repeat championship than we are this year. We have to retool before next season. Let's get it done NOW.
