Similar roster as last year or the year before?

    You are either:

    a) on crack
    b) just started watching basketball this year
    c) educated by Pawdunk University of San Antonio/PUSA

That team had Smush Parker and Kwame Brown as starters. Smush and freakin' Kwame!!!

I think there's been a slight upgrade. Just a slight.

    Sigh. Why do we bother???

Mr. Stern, let me be among those who congratulate you on the hard work you've done reconstructing the Lakers team. Instead of letting Kupchak trade away franchise star Kobe Bryant, you helped line up the Gasol trade, a stroke of genius.

Why thank you. It took some doing, but I think it will ultimately serve the league and all of its participants well. The steady decline in viewership that we have been experiencing since the advent of the Sperms reign as champions was something that had to be addressed. Thankfully, the Memphis brass was well aware of the situation and was happy to oblige.

I would like to express my gra ude to the fine folks of San Antonio for the temporary housing they provided to the Larry O'Brien trophy. But I think it's time to relinquish the honor to its rightful owner.

    Once again, thank you.

the college thing that is pointless.

What's important to know is that a Tim Duncan-led Spurs team has 4 les.
A Kobe Bryant-led team has ZERO les.

That's all that's important. Kobe wants what Tim has and he hasn't gotten it yet. Tim wants to keep his and he ain't giving it up easily.

The rest of that crap is idle banter meant to deflect your attention.

Exactly. It's the tool of the ignorant. Sadly, its coming from both sides.
Totally in agreement. What does the city itself have to do with the series anyway. There are good things and bad things about every city. I cannot believe we are in the midst of a great series of BASKETBALL and these bufoons from both sides are arguing about which city had the best Mexican food!

I apologize for my fellow LA fans that stoop to this level. While I myself will definetly defend a personal attack and give the back, I often wonder why it comes to this. 90% of the threads have very little to do with basketball. It's a shame.

It's very ironic that people, like the starter of this thread, call out others for posting derogatory comments about whatever, then follow it up with their own. Mabye someday we can all grow up and treat each other with respect and talk some basketball. Is that not why were all here in the first place? Because were fans of our teams?

Good luck in game 4... may the best team win!

I'm off for a tofu buritto!

Maybe, just maybe, the worst post I've read on this forum.

It wasn't smart, nor witty, not close to being good smack, in fact........it was just dumb.
This from the guy who posted "Tonight, The Black Mamba will take control!" Now that's funny!

Nothing I said was intended to be witty. Just pointing out some facts. You people are pathetic, coming here and talking about people living in trailer parks. Who told you that the house you live in is the measure of your worth? There are great people living in very modest homes, all over the country. I bet the ones living in trailers aren't upside-down on their mortgages!

You've got close to 70,000 homeless on any given day in LA. Do you boost your ego by making fun of them too? What happened that warped you so badly?

Is that not why were all here in the first place? Because were fans of our teams?
I'm here because I'm a Spurs fan. If I were a Laker fan, I probably would have looked for something like "Lakerstalk.com". Just a thought.

I bet not one of the Spurs fans came here to read hundreds of posts about what a crappy city San Antonio is, or dumb about the Black Mamba taking control. What do you think? It actually becomes hard to wade through all the Laker bull . Why does it surprise you that someone actually snapped back.

Your city is a dump. Even Charles Barkley dreaded having to go there and referred to it as "Podunk, Texas"

Try three les in a row. Tissue Timmy is still looking for his first repeat and played like a tanking dog in the Olympics.

You will see the difference in heart when Kobe rips the world a new asshole in Bejing while Timmy just hung his head and wondered where the NBA refs were to give him his usual touch fouls when he shoots.

I post on boards from many different teams. I like to hear what others around the country think and banter with fans from other teams. Is there a rule or something that says because i am a Laker fan I am only supposed to post on a Laker board? That's just plain silly.

It doesn't suprise me at all that somebody snapped back and i would have no issues if you were doing so. I simply would not have commented. But you chose to ridicule posters for thier derogatory and vicious comments, which is fine if you would have left it there. You however jumped right out of the pan and into the fire by posting the very same derogatory and vicious comments you were condemning.

That my friend.... is hypocritical to say the least.

Maybe just maybe amoungst all this BS, we will actually get to see a good game tonight! Go figure...

If your team was that ty, how did you ever manage to get up 3-1 on Phoenix to begin with? Luck?

The point is, you blew a ing 3-1 lead in the playoffs. That's a historical feat. And a whole lot of the players on this team were part of that. And they will remember it when the series goes to 2-2.

, the Celtics are feeling it, and they didn't recently blow a 3-1 series lead.

Thanks for sharing how you would have handled things. I'm sure your way is superior, as you are from LA. So it would have been OK for me to snap back, as long as I didn't say anything to make you feel uncomfortable? That's original, I'll give you that much.

My comments were facts, which I'm sure makes them sting more. When the series is over, we'll be free of all of you and your idiotic smack. But you'll still be living with all of the things I listed. That's not going away.

    And I'm not your friend.

There are 4 players that wer active on that team that are on this years team. It was a 2 seed playing a 7 seed. That we made it 3-1 was very lucky. It also was a team playing way better than expected and surprising the 2nd seed out of the gate. All that and it still came down to a last second 3pt shot. Your suggesting that those 4 players will remember and wilt is simply your opinion and nothing more. My opinion is also that they will remember, learned, and not alow it to happen again.

Well see how it plays out.

Um. No. The Lakers were up 3-1 to Phoenix because of some dude whose name I can't remember. All I remember is that the dude could shoot the ball from inside, outside, this side, that side, and the free throw line. He even had a last second basket in one those games for the win. His name escapes me right now. I think he still plays for them.

So no, I wouldn't exactly call it luck. Magic? No. That wasn't him. Kareem? No, not him either. .

Yeah. They did blow a 3-1 lead. A three-one lead they had no business having. No business. Sorry, I meant "No ing business." Just in case you wanted some emphasis. A team which had Smush Parker, Luke Walton and Kwame Brown as starters blew a 3-1 lead to Phoenix.

I hope that gives you some comfort. Because you really do need to chill.
