No he should have shot the ball but as a Spurs fan I don't have to like the fact that it went in. And I didn't say I hated Fisher or disliked him, I said that I can see why people do.
Then again, I pretty much boo any Spurs opponent but I keep it at booing. Some fans take it too far.

exactly, just like I didn't like the result with the no call on Barry. And if the Spurs lose the series, there will be some Spurs fans that just won't let it go. I don't see it like that but there are no rules on being a fan so to each his own.
Had it gone in you can bet every Laker fan would have been ing about Fisher's shot hitting the rim, so it goes both ways I suppose.

Most of the 29 were jump shots and two were breakaway dunks, but you would think a guy with the ball in his hands that much would get to the line at least once, even if a ref accidentally exhaled with a whistle in his mouth. The last time Bryant didn't attempt a free throw in a playoff game was Game 5 of the 2004 conference semifinals -- known here and in L.A. as the .4 Game. The Spurs actually filed a protest with the league on that one, saying that Fisher could not have had enough time to catch the ball and fling it into the basket in that span.
This time Gregg Popovich and Co. dutifully accepted the ruling on the floor, and the unwritten rule that the officials don't decide the end of games. Perhaps they remembered how they benefited from the same thought process when Bob Delaney didn't blow the whistle when Bruce Bowen grabbed LeBron James at the end of Game 3 in the NBA Finals last year.

I'll admit I think it was a foul, but Barry also traveled. Hopped into place with two feet, moved his left which became his pivot, then moved his right before dribbling the ball again.

The foul came before the shot and Lakers were in the penalty. Two FTs for Barry. IF he makes both, then OT. Do you all really think the Spurs had enough left in the tank to win it in OT? The only reason the Spurs even had a chance was because of some illegal defense call on Odom there at the end AND two missed FTs by the Lakers. Otherwise, the Spurs never even get that shot.
If that's travel, the rapist would score 6 points and have 21 TO per game.
Everything went roughly as planned, just I didn't think Stern needed Crawfard to execute it.
Also I thought a 6 games series would suit the Spurs as well.
Now, the Spurs are too ing dangerous and Stern needs to kick them out in 5.
Fakers are a non en y: they were given Gasolio for free and they are just playing the role Stern assigned to them.
Business is business and the Spurs business is just too small in the long run.
The Spurs should have never put themselves in a position to allow that game to come down to a call or no-call on a short possession at the end. If the Spurs could have been bothered, for instance, to hustle for the rebound on Walton's free throw brick at the end of the first half, they: (1) deprive the Lakers of 2 points (the ultimate difference in the game); and (2) give themselves a good chance to go in with a score and some momentum.
And the Daily Dime is correct that the Spurs got the benefit of almost exactly the same call at the end of Game 3 of the 2007 Finals.
With that said, I thought Bowen fouled James at the end of that game and that Delaney should have called it then; and I think Fisher fouled Barry last night and that Crawford should have made that call. Again, it didn't decide the game -- the Lakers played better in Game 4 (they certainly brought a greater sense of urgency and a lot more hustle) and the Spurs basically had no business finding themselves in position to even have a shot to get the game to overtime. It's a perfect instance of what I've said before about officiating: play better and don't let the officiating make a difference.
The Spurs have to feel as though they've had every chance to be up 3-1 in this series; they've had some adversity to be sure and I do think that adversity killed them in Game 1, but the opportunities were there to realistically be up 3-1 at this point and the Spurs have only themselves to blame for being in a 1-3 hole. Lots of work to do!!
If there was a foul on the last play then the referees would have called it…End of story...Time to move on…
Major Props to Barry…Just a few weeks ago he was not even in the NBA…Discarded like a worn out dish rag by the Spurs, Barry fought back, and has been the go to guy in this series…

But that doesn't change the fact that the refs have decided two games now: Game 1's no call on Kobe push-off on Bowen, and Game 4's non call on Fisher.
So, yes, the Spurs are to blame... but not the ONLY ones to blame.
Refs don't make players miss shots, take bad shots or turn the ball over.
The Spurs let a 20pt. lead get away from them in Game 1 and miss tons of wide open looks in Game 4. You can't blame the refs for those and those reasons are why they are down 1-3.

But that doesn't change the FACT that the Spurs have endured TWO non-calls that could have changed the outcome of the game.
Just because you play ty, doesn't mean the rules don't matter anymore.
