The Lakers fans have more whine about than the Spurs fans. It's annoying reading the whining.
I know you're not a Spurs fan though..
/whine about officiating...that's what Mavs and Suns fans do...
We're above it...

At first I felt really bad about the no call at the end of the game against Barry. I hate winning like that. Especially when the Lakers played the better game in SA and deserved the win. I could just hear every whining, conspiracy theorist saying how the game is rigged and blah blah blah. Victims!!!!! I think the ref's are these days too but my opinions and time isn't solely based on the ref's like some of these new school nerds.
Back to the point. Initially, I thought it was a foul because there was contact. This play has nothing to do with the fact that it was Barry and not a "superstar". And "selling it" (like Reggie miller said) isn't what its about either because that means to flop or act. Once Barry had Fisher in the air, he should have gone up for a shot and leaned into Fisher, the way any other NBA all star would have (you can bet your life Manu would have). He would have got the call. Instead he chose to put the ball down and make a move. So at best it's two FT's and not 3. We have yet to hear from a ref and I'm not sure we will but I have a theory that the ref's believe that Barry gave Fisher no room to come down. You can't go under a player who has jumped, get landed on and think that’s a foul. Again, Barry should have gone up for the shot right away and they would have had no choice but to call it. Barry is new to that position, being the go to guy in a crucial game in the last 2 seconds. Why was he that guy? Because nobody else was good enough that night and he was the only one with the hot hand.
If your going to about that call then also discuss the 2 other calls that went against the Lakers in the final min that assisted in letting SA back in the game. The first is the BS call against Lamar Odem for goaltending. The ref said he pinned it on the glass, not that the ball was coming down, that he pinned it on the glass. Check the rulebook. In order to make that call the ball has to simultaneously be touched with the hand to ball and ball to glass. That didn’t happen. He blocked the ball and then it was pinned to the glass. Go watch it for yourself. That call put them within 2. Even though that was a bad call in my opinion, there is such thing as human error. So whatever, still not the right call.
Another call was the fact that EVERYONE saw Fishers ball hit the rim!!! That would have given the Lakers a new 24-second clock and SA would have been forced to foul. Instead the Lakers had 2 seconds on the shot clock and Kobe had to take a quick shot. Nobody is talking about those calls.
The monkey can only remember the last play of the game as if that was the game. It wasn't. The Lakers beat the Spurs in every way. Outscored, out rebounded and most importantly out hustled. That’s right, the Lakers wanted it more. They came into the champions building and wanted it more? The Spurs deserve to lose. Sorry but just it's just the truth. The Lakers are a better team. Nobody wants to give the Lakers their props but in the end they will have to. If they win tomorrow night, they will have only lost 3 games on the road to the finals, averaging one loss a series.
I am very proud and excited to be a Laker fan.
A new Dynasty in the making but I know we still need to handle our business.
Go Lakers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Go Pistons-Celtics...
Very good points. All people remember is the last play and not the 47 minutes prior where the Spurs were out hustled...Ginobili did not show up and Parker was not into the game mentally. Duncan was obviously tired and Finley and Horry were no shows. You guys were at home and still didnt show the hustle and hunger for the game....
That's all very nice, but...
it doesn't excuse the non-call.
Two bad calls don't make a right.
Playing ty doesn't mean you shouldn't get calls.
The San Anphonio Sterns are not and have never been a dynasty.
They have never won 2 in a row and have never sucessfully defended their le. A good team, but not great by any accepted defintion. No dynasty.
How can we be the "Sterns" when we don't get the calls?
Just askin'.
For the Lakers to be beating the Spurs in the WCF once again. How does it feel for Fisher to finish you guys off once again??
Must feel better then being an assflake Laker troll.![]()
Those werent the only blown calls..its just that those are the last two you remember..what about Timmy 3 step dunk....can we take those two points off the board?
Yes, fakers are younger, so much younger than Boston.
They can wait till next year.
Let's give a serious chance to KG to win a ring, finally.
I am already starting to laugh.
I am laughing at Bryant getting a call on a last second 3 in Boston.
In the end, "Boston was leading most of the game, etch etch etch......"
You're a fellow laker fan man.... but damn this subject is getting pretty damn annoying.
"Can't win them all"
A decade of dominance is fine by me.... and plus, if people really think the Spurs are done forever they need to get real.
TD, Manu, and TP will still be the core, and we'll build around them with some fresh legs.
Silly... spurs are dynasty anyone that doesnt think so is smoking crack plus they may get more as long as Duncan/Parker/Manu are together ...and they add some more offense to their GREAT defense!!
Right, and your being nice. It might have been 4 steps. But I was only referring to the last min of the game. I thought there were calls all the way through the game. Both ways.
Sh!tty call. But, yeah, the Lakers definitely outplayed the Spurs, but since the trail to a championship often is sprinkled with fortunate bounces and made seemingly impossible shots and controversial calls, so be it.
It's the talk of the town right now Laker brethren. I will put it to rest with this thread.
It's a stupid line of thinking to start that. You can take the game all the way back to 0-0 if you really want to. Besides, it's not like traveling is actually enforced anyway (and no one in their right mind wants it to be rigidly enforced).
Calls were blown, big deal.
It will feel fine once the Lakers finish 2nd and join the Spurs on the fishing boat...
Yes you just made my point. Spurs fans can cry about the last call but if we want to knitpick then we can go back and cry about a bunch of calls. Lakers won, Spurs didnt.
Start talking about Game 5 now....that's all that matters
Why do you watch the NBA if it is rigged? Sore loser!!!!
First off, the series hasn't been put away just yet. so count your chickens before they hatch.
And if the Spurs were to lose to the Lakers...I can live with it. Kobe has a great supporting cast, but like mexicanjunior, I expect them to finish 2nd.
Go Spurs Go!
I moved on a couple of minutes after the game was over. Next.
How did it feel getting whipped by the Suns when we were winning les assclown???
