Agreed...go East...
I reject this transparent attempt by Laker Fan to create reverse mojo against the Spurs. You aren't fooling me! The Spurs have no chance in game 5 and will lose by 40.
There. All is well again.
Agreed...go East...
Yes, the current lake show with Phil and Kobe has lost a 3-1 series, however that was the 2nd seed fighting against a 7th seed and the lakers didn't have Home Court. Still an up hill battle for the spurs.
YOu CAn Spend Minutes HOurs, days weeks or even months over analyzing the situation trying to put the pieces together justyfying what couldve wouldve happened..or you can just leave the pieces on the floor and move the on..
I just loved the G1 planning 48 hours after a G7.
That was huge by Stern.
I will bet that the finals will be spaced 3 days minimum.
Because these Boston folks aren't any younger that the Spurs chaps.
The Spurs will come in with a lot of energy early in the game, and give it all they've got. The Lakers will try to absorb the initial onslaught and try to contain the Spurs by halftime. That is, by having a slight lead, or at least a tie. By the time the third quarter starts, the quarter the Spurs dread the most, they will be ripe for the taking. The Lakers should win this Thursday and I'd like to see a blowout.
This thread is hilarious. Thanks for making me laugh when I was down.
You'll get your wish, Duncan will have his head down and mope on the sidelines by the end of the 3rd quarter. Bonner and the scrubs will get alot of run in the 4th...than it will be time to root for Boston or Detroit...
It's not the Lakers fault that the Spurs took 5 games to beat the Suns, and had to pull one of their old tricks to beat the Hornets in Game 7. The Lakers on the other hand, not only are they younger, they have fresher legs for playing less.
U know this poster is the most real guy on the board, he always comes with reality based replies, I really like this guy......
Nice post....![]()
If the Spurs would have taken care of business in the regular season, they would have been rewarded with easier playoff match ups and had more rest before the conference finals.
If Pop would have given Duncan some rest in the second half, he might have been more effective in the 4th quarter.
If the spurs management wouldn't have put together the oldest team in the NBA, maybe they wouldn't be so fatigued.
If, if, if...
yes this is not over yet
but spurs must play better
Suns were better at the time than the Spurs are now. And Lakers weren't as good at the time they are now...
What a combination for you guys huh?? and We have homecourt Advantage.
Suns had homecourt.
The lakers were up 3-1 against the suns and lost 3 in a row..Im not celebrating yet
No celebration,...ok a little celebration but I am confident the lakers will win tomorrow to end the series..
This is D'Antoni's seven man rotation that came back from 3-1, and there was the one game that Bell was suspended (the 6th game, in LA if I recall correctly) for that flagrant two clothesline on Kobe:
Steve Nash
Raja Bell
Shawn Marion
Boris Diaw
Leandro Barbosa
Eddie House
Tim Thomas
And had the 2006 Spurs beaten Dallas, Phoenix would have been thoroughly dominated in the WCF that year.
I think you missed my point. The Suns at THAT time are 10000 times better than the Spurs NOW!
As a long-time (29 years) Lakers fan, I would definitely say that I won't be at all secure until the 4th win is in the books. The Spurs are to be taken very seriously. They are the real deal, with 4 O'Briens to prove it.
All these posers -- Kings, Suns, Blazers, Jazz -- who think they have some sort of "rivalry" going with LAL are delusional. To me, a rivalry endures the decades, and involves teams that have both beaten each other. Lakers/Celics, Lakers/Knicks, and yes, Lakers/Spurs. There is a certain respect earned that those other pretenders don't understand. I mean, raising banners for the Pacific Division le (like the Queens did)? That's pathetic.
Barkley's comment about the Spurs being " roaches" was right on. They will not ever give up, and for my money until they're buried, they're very dangerous.
Oops, I meant to say 39 years (not 29). My first game in-person was at the Forum against the San Diego Rockets, whose roster included Pat Riley and Rick Adelman at guards.
I agree, sometimes the close out game is the hardest one to get.
And we are probably looking at Steve Jobbie, the master of the phantom "And 1" fouls in favor of floor divers like Tony Parker for Game 5.
No, this years Lakers are much, much better than anyone else left standing. The team that choked against Phoenix had Smuch Parker as its third-best player (actually, at the time he resembled an NBA player!) Chris Mihm and Kwame Brown were its centers, and I'm sure Kobe was happy to even be in the playoffs with that motley bunch!
This year's team will not only not choke against the Spurs, they will easily wrap up the NBA le in a matter of days.
that's the thing about the Lakers this series. In the 1st quarter of games 3 and 4 they had a comfortable lead, and both times they went for the jugular and both times, that is what put the spurs back in.
Odds of Spurs taking game 5 are long indeed. Manu has been terrible in 3 of the 4 games, hard to see him flipping the switch on the road. We are older and more beat up, coming off an emotional loss at home.
